In an interview done recently after signing with Kalmar, a club playing in the Swedish "Premier League", Mr. Ring got this question:

Lately you have played in England at Grimsby Town. What can you say about your time there?

– "I have developed much, both as a player and as a person. It was a huge decision to move from my hometown and to another country. The English football have learned me a lot and I have improved parts that I needed to improve. It is a physical football over there and more direct. I wasn`t used to that and it has been a learning process for me. If you want to go far you need to handle it in a good way. "

I am glad that he has found himself a new club and that he can continue to make a living out of football. It also confirms for me that the level of football in England is a lot higher than people here in Scandinavia believe. I have always said that, with the possible exception of the top 3-4 teams in the Swedish and Norwegian League, most teams would struggle to keep up in the 4th tier of English football.

Clearly a decent lad who has found a level he’s more suited to, wish him well.

Glad he found himself a decent club, seems a good guy and technically gifted, just couldn't get up to the speed and physicality of the English game

By adding that physical side to his game, he may still be off the pace of the English game but if it makes him a better player in the Swedish game, then fair play.

At least he won't get to the end of his career regretting that he never gave it a go.

He tried his trade out of his comfort zone and has grown as a person and a player, it's a tough gamble and although it didn't work out for him here, I wish him all the best for the future.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

He came and gave it a go, but i just never worked out how himself and everybody else wanted it to, he did not quite look up to the standard or atleast he never showed he was up to the standard required but before his move to England he was well thought off in Sweden and he can contine where he left off, good luck to him.
