Lots of traditional cockernee corner pubs in the local area from memory of my last visit.

Yep Leyton Technical or the Northcote Arms is quite near the ground too.  Birkbeck Tavern is one near the tube station.

Something to note if you've been before - Coach and Horses is now home fan only.

Ground is also a short walk away from the canal side at the Olympic park / hackney wick. I work next to some good bars like crate brewery and number 90 for those who want something different from your traditional boozers, especially if the suns out

Technical is very close to the ground…very nice boozer, perhaps too nice for footy depending what you’re after 😊

Northcote is a great old pub that does brilliant pizzas…slightly out of the way from the ground, but worth a visit if you’re looking to do a mini pub crawl.

The Leyton Star is also super close to the tube station if you go the opposite way to the ground, very nice boozer that does EXCELLENT burgers and will have footy on…definitely a good shout if you’ve got kids too. Guess Kris will confirm if we’re allowed in there....it's not a rowdy pub by any means.

If you want to go a bit further out and you’re into your beer then I’d recommend two breweries that are on the canal in Hackney Wick – Howling Hops and Crate Brewery. They’re next to each other…beer obviously great, Crate does pizza and Howling does burgers/meaty stuff etc if you want food. Super cool round there and it’s nice to drink by the canal if the weather is alright…probably a half an hour walk away, or a 15 minute Uber journey, or you can easy make your way to Stratford from there and go one stop on the central line.

Obviously Westfield in nearby Stratford has plenty of places to drink and eat if you’ve got kids.

Shame about the Coach and Horses as there was a great atmosphere there last time and it’s right outside. Though they’ve done it up since then so that’s probably why they don’t want the riff raff in 😉

Does anyone remember the Lionel Ritchie lookalike behind the bar of that Leyton pub during the penultimate fixture in the soul destroying campaign of 05/06? Poor sodomist was serenaded with Dancing on the Ceiling by about 100 Town fans.

Drew 0-0. A win that day would have seen us automatically promoted...

haha...only been the once when we won 3-1 as they were spiralling down/ out of the League and from that match i can remember a very very angry man in their stand to our left going purple with rage as the goals went in.

Leyton Technical is a nice pub. Good food. Good beer. Nice setting - old town hall. Not your usual rowdy away bar.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.

Spoke to Leyton Star general manager.  They were home only for the Scunny game in November and envisage it'll be the same again Saturday

Must have been inconvenient for BOTH the Scunny fans

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Are most people heading straight to Leyton on Saturday?  I'm on dad duties around greenwich in the morning but heading to cannon st...quick jump onto Central Line and hopefully into a swarm of town fans.  Bringing a charlton and a Truro fan with me.
