Ollie has just met the fans and made a short speech in the Trust bar, I'm impressed already.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

No one on the pitch capable of holding the ball up front, will have to totally rely on balls for strikers to run onto

It’s pretty poor tbh . Vernam only decent player going forward but he is on the left side miles away from the striker . Salford are very sharp going forward and their back line looks solid . Their gk is the calmest man on the pitch

Plenty of effort, not a lot of quality. Even Salford have not looked that amazing but they had the better chances so far, they probably should have scored when Waterfall messed up and I'm sure he handballed it so got lucky on both counts. Doesn't seem like we've figured out how to deliver balls with the forwards we have so service has been poor.

Dampest of squibs so far. Good Vernam cross clipped the bar but neither keeper unduly troubled. They look slightly better than us so far.

Crowd very quiet, waiting for something to happen.

When our forwards get the ball they are trying to do things too fast . It's head down-charge. doesn't look as though they have been doing much practising.

Pretty poor, but the pitch looks bad compared to previous seasons quite muddy/bobbly. Salford missed a couple of sitters, we have been ok till final 3rd then as often no final ball, we have put all 4 crosses so far straightb into the keepers hands within  a yard of his line unchallenged and Gibson mishit one that keeper touched onto the bar. Cook lasted 30 mins before his injury f;ared up and replaced by Ogbu.

It was Vernam's cross that the keeper touched onto the bar.

Whoever thought Ogbu was a footballer must be fookin nuts.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

You can see why Ogbu gets overlooked if he's on a big wage I'd ship him out in Jan.

We got very lucky there.

Always felt like the first team that scores will win. Scored with our one real shot on goal and really was not Salford's day as they had tons of chances to score that were easy.

Both Stevenage and Morecambe lose to very late goals! In Stevenage’s case, very VERY late!

Really pleased for AL to get a win under his belt as he steps out of the Caretaker role and a great start to 2020 with a win long over due. Hopefully the goal will boost Akem's confidence and although they hit the post after a mix up I thought we did enough in the game to take all 3 points. Salford were a half decent side and better than most we have seen at BP so their league position is a fair reflection of why they are 11th.

Three precious points sweetened further by a Northampton winner in the 94th minute against Stevenage. From what the other guys have written here the players put a proper shift in for Ollie. Well done, lads.

Always felt like the first team that scores will win. Scored with our one real shot on goal and really was not Salford's day as they had tons of chances to score that were easy.

Salford hit the post and a couple of half chances they could have capitalised on.

Yes but the one that hit the post is the only one that could be classed as 'easy'.

It's a massive 3 points and with goal difference we are effectively 10 points above Stevenage

People giving Ogbu a kicking? i thought he did alright.  He held the ball up ok and played a couple of decent balls.  Considering the guy hasnt had a run in the team yet he done more than Green has all season for me.
Think he needs to stop wondering out wide when he is the only striker and stay central, he is very capable of holding ball up and bringing others in to play.

Think whole team did ok today but nothing spectacular, probably the worst we have played in a few games and won so hopefully turning the corner now.

Delighted for AL, great result against a team full of League 1 and ex Championship players on loads more money than our lads.

The work rate was excellent especially second half but we do make it hard work with some real hospital passes. It is bad enough to be passing sideways and back but they should at least do a decent one and not put the team mate under pressure and nowhere to go. We keep doing it down the wings especially.

But everyone put a shift in and I thought we deserved the points in the end for wearing them down and going 4-4-2 second half.

Ogbu led the line in our last win so surely he deserves a run in the team to prove himself

He's so clumsy, lost the ball tons of times because he has no real control with the ball at his feet, looks like he's running on ice with his legs flying all over the place. Before Rose found space and got a shot off it was Ogbu with our best chance to do something and he screwed it up by getting the ball caught in his feet and kicking it out. The one thing he did right was draw some fouls.

I don't get the hate.yes he's unpredictable and sometimes it goes wrong, but that's why he's playing for us. I thought he was a massive improvement on green in the game v crawley and as you said he was very good when we beat exeter

FIFY.

He's the sort of player who shows up in non league hoping to play football in England. Has some raw attributes in strength and pace but has no idea how to actually use it. He doesn't run out of gas in 10 minutes like Tom Bolarinwa did but I don't see him offering much more. He's sort of okay if you want to bring somebody on to cause problems for the last 10-15 minutes but not somebody you want to be spending a huge wage on if the rumours are true. We need more than something good happening 1 in 20 times he touches the ball, it even looked like players were avoiding passing him the ball in the box on several occasions so maybe even they know he's rubbish.

I guess because we have a new manager and the first win in months everyone is in a super positive "nobody can do any wrong" sort of mood. Will remember these comments the next time we lose badly in a game Ogbu played in.

Unfair on Green who wasn’t fit. I think Ollie will want better than Ogbu, and probably Green, Cardwell and Cook as well.

All about opinions but thought he was really poor until after we scored then he managed to win us several free kicks. Control was iffy, work rate not the best and he rarely bust a gut to get in the box as I would expect all forward players to do. I would be looking to replace him in ths window, thank him for giving it a go and try and offload back to Sweden.

We were saying that he definitely didn't fit the remit of a IH player from what he said yesterday. Don't think he works hard enough and was on his heels several times when he could have won the ball but let the defender get in front of him.
