Really sad to see that ex derby, Pompey and oxford manger Jim Smith has passed away today.

Great character and good manager.

That is sad. Jim cut his managerial teeth as player manager at Boston in the early 70s.

Jim truly did have more clubs than Jack Nicklaus. Much respected and a very popular manager. Loved hearing him talking football. What he did at Oxford was amazing. Oxford fans say he was suffering from dementia and was in a nursing home. Very sad. RIP 'Bald Eagle'.

I remember when he was getting abuse from the main stand when we were beating Pompey, it was 3-0 I think, that kind of scoreline seems like a dream now...

Anyway he got so angry even his bald patch glowed bright red!  

Great character, he was laughing once he'd calmed down...
