The increase in prices this season to 22 pounds pay on the day effecting the attendance.
Last Tuesday nights game the attendance was non league level
I know we are on a poor run and Jolley is looking like a big mistake.
Is it the never ending Fenty death spiral killing off support.??

I felt the price rise was to much for the standard of football being served up.

I think it is the standard of football more than the price.. like everything in life if the product is good you will go see it / buy it more often..

Well there was an acknowledgement at the end of last season that the playing budget needed upping for this season.....who did you think was going to pay for it ?

I can see you're not a Labour voter.

I think apathy is starting to take over, we've given it twenty years to be fair, but it's absolutely shite and I don't know about others, but I'm so sick of it I'm beginning to fall out of love with Town. I've been going since 1989 regularly, home and away. Most of my adult life as a season ticket holder but I don't believe we will do anything under Mr Fenty's leadership, aside from flirt with, and eventually be relegated again to non league. Constantly firefighting, no visible medium to long term plan, horrible football, ageing players signed on the decline (again), square pegs in round holes. All been done before, we know how it ends. Our better players, such as Jake Hessenthaler's contract being allowed to ebb away (7 months left, no hurry JF). Shite, and more shite.

Yes but at 22 pounds a lot of fans will put a bet on go to the pub in the warm and watch the a match and the football results come  in.
It’s enough to put people off.
As was proven on Tuesday.

Don't follow ??

The budget wasnt up to scratch, JF has said for a couple of seasons he wants out and isnt putting his money in....so obviously the punters foot the bill....its systematic of his reign.....very short sighted. If you dont value your customers they will eventually fck off, no matter how unique your product.
The club never grasped the full potential of being back in the League, right then, at that time when we were all travelling back from Wembley...Boom !!! Freeze ST prices, discount prices for renewing ST, reduce junior tickets, hit us with offers, enticements and a thanks for helping us out of non League......but no.......  let time pass, let the euphoria die down, let half of the hero's and fan favourites slip away.....then eventually release and then put the prices up....this after WE had stuck £100k in the kitty via operation promotion.

May 2019...( as i imagine it )...
MJ - John, the budget really wasnt competetive for last season
JF - ok, i hear you, i will do all i can to ensure next seasons budget is closer to being competetive. I will speak with the board.
JF - Ok board, the product, results, backroom staff,  facilities and squad quality needs to improve, so based on how disappointing the season was i propose to increase gate prices and pass the burden on to the supporters. All in favour of agreeing with me or face having to put more money in yourselves........Aye.......Carried unanimously.

I paid 33 euros for Hamburg v Stuttgart the other week.
Wish I could work out how to put photos and videos on here.
50k plus, comfy seats, beer in your seat, gorgeous concourse food, free programms, smiling old bill and stewards even though the security was second to none and thorough, free transport throughout the city three hours before and after the game with the match day ticket, free bus shuttle to ground, no over reaction, court cases and banning orders if a couple of blokes fall out and come to blows, just pinned up against the wall, bollocked and sent on their separate ways.
I've three Hamburg sorted for definite and three Town in the next three months, guess which ones I'm looking forward to most?
Don't get me wrong, the passion is all for Town but my passion for football in this country is wearing thin.

In all fairness it could also be to do with timing I couldn't go because I was on afters shift with no holidays left, if it had been Saturday I would have gone regardless, plus midweek there are usually fewer there especially those travelling (125 mile round trip every home game for me n the missus).

It's not the cost keeping me away but I know people on tighter budgets who think twice about spending money on Town to watch dire football.

Yes the price is an issue when the football is dire. Doesn't seem to be a problem when we are doing well which tells the story.

If you want Town to get good players in and stay here you have to pay the price for them. The budget for running the club has to come from somewhere. Are you suggesting that we let fans in for next to nothing and Fenty ploughs in millions he hasn't got so you can watch good football on the cheap?

There has to be a balance between income and outlay otherwise we end up like Bury.

The prices went up this year and we’ve 500 less season ticket holders. Does that mean we’ve still got more money? I’ve still got a season ticket at the new price, I must have missed the quality players and good football.

Prices go up just to stand still. What I mean is if the price stays the same you end up worse off because of inflation and the fact that other teams increase their budgets. To be competitive the price would had have to go up a lot more than it did.

If we were top of the league and scoring for fun would we even be having this conservation?

We’ve ended up worse off because the prices have gone up.
If we were we probably wouldn’t, but we are so very far away from that.

If prices go up 10% but attendance goes down 11% you have less money.

This.
The worrying thing been the amount of people offering free tickets for the game on Tue.

If it was just £22 it might not be such a barrier, but in my case (and probably similar for many others too) it’s that, plus £20 fuel plus something to eat and drink, and if I take my little boy that’d add a fair bit more. It’s also the time to get there and back and the effort, for a full time working Dad with 2 kids. It’s £50 at least and a huge effort to do 150 miles to sit in the cold and wet and watch no football and no goals. Money and time are tight and it’s a miserable experience and easy to give up on that basis.
If there were some performances and entertainment and the occasional win I’d still do it for a fair few games but I’ve really dropped off this season.

I very much doubt that a small price rise has anything to do with the poor attendance the other night. It is definitely the shapeless and dismal football we've suffered for the past few years which will have been the main culprit.

In the Buckley and Hurst eras (and Slade Mk 1, for that matter), it was at least obvious what we were trying to do, even when it didn't work out or we were simply outplayed. From Bignot onwards, I can't say that there has been any obvious plan which has lasted more than a game or two and that's what I'm desperate to see. It would be nice to turn up to a game with a reasonable idea of who will be playing, how we will line up and to be able to recognise some patterns of play. Other than a long, hopeful whack upfield in the general direction of a forward, of course.

Price might be a factor for some but in the main it’s just that the standard of football is currently crap, the club is in regression, the facilities are Dickensian and mainly they club treat supporters like it’s some form of privilege to go to BP

Oh yeah and we seem to have forgotten that the aim of the game is to get the ball in the opponents net.

As Ihave said before on other threads, football is an entertainment. We fans don't go to watch a tactical duel between coaches. We actually go to watch attacking football with (dare I say it!) plenty of goalmouth action. I cannot fathom out what Jolley was hoping to achieve, especially at home with his negative "stop the opposition" tactics. This was the main reason fans deserted in their hundreds.
