Grimsby Town Football Club are pleased to announce that former defender and GTFC Academy coach, Ben Davies will be assisting in a First Team coaching role.

The former GTFC defender has agreed to step up to the First Team and will be assisting interim manager, Anthony Limbrick and Dave Moore on a temporary basis.

Ben currently plays for Cleethorpes Town and is also a current member of the GTFC Academy coaching staff. Ben has currently been working on his coaching badges for a number of years and currently holds his UEFA A Licence.

With over 600 professional appearances throughout his career and over 60 of those at the Mariners over a two-year period, Ben will bring a vast amount of knowledge and experience to the back-room staff as we build towards our Emirates FA Cup First Round replay vs. Newport County AFC on Wednesday 20th November.

A smart move Imo, even if just a stop-gap measure. Brings us back up to a full management team, based locally, already involved with the club, working on coaching badges and a former high level and long time model pro who knows the game and will command respect.


Rik....before someone else tells you I'll get in first....there's already a thread about Davis stepping up bud..
