Hasn't there been an alleged similarity between Nolan and Mike Newell in the past? If so it would be madness for us to even consider him.

It'll Limbrick won't it... We've got history of promoting one of a duo who does a reasonable job after freeing the shackles of his overbearing partner.

An interesting write up on Nolan and the Grimsby manager job...

If you scroll down to the bottom of the article there is a link to an interesting interview with Harry kewell. Hadnt realised that the nott s county period wasnt quite the disaster it might appear. If you look at the teams they lost to, it was all the high fliers, and he put together quite an unbeaten run, hauling them away from the drop spots. Certainly would be more interested in him than nolan

Hurst wasn't really a "deputy" was he?

I want Limbrick to do well. But the last two deputies we trialled were Wilkinson and Watkiss, and they were both awful. So I'm managing my expectations at the moment and will see what the next two games bring. I think we'll know which way it's going to go when the line up is announced tomorrow.

He also did ok at Crawley despite everyone assuming he would be an instant failure (myself included). What struck me was his opinion that going into non league or L2 is the perfect place to start your career. He is obviously not afraid of grafting at a low level to become a better manager. Also he gets his sides playing attacking football.

Notts County with their crackpot owner in charge were doomed no matter who was in the hotseat.

We could have an all Australian management team.

Of all the people linked so far, it’s Kewell by a mile for me

"Falls to Arnold... Arnold! That's it! Thats it! He's sealed it! Grimsby Town are back in the football league!!! Just a minute to go and Nathan Arnold makes it 3-1! Look at the scenes behind the goal! Look at the relief! The agony is finally over!!!"

Could sort out the lack of a decent left winger problem too.
