Has the previous manager failed though? Some sackings he clearly has, but in Jolley's case it's not that clear cut.
Football is all about opinions but since the start of his first full season in charge against FGR how many entertains matches has there been?, how often have we played any football or seen one of our players take on and beat one of the opposition? When was the last time we dominated possession and had the opposition camped in their own half? When anyone really considers what MJ achieved out on the pitch the real answer is very little and as I said in a previous post I am astonishing at how many fans are upset by his termination. We all want all the managers appointed to succeed as that means town are doing well and MJ did so much right off the pitch, at least in the eyes of us fans but in some ways this disguised his ability to identify and play a style of football that first gets more wins than defeats and second is worth getting down to BP to watch. In my mind the right call and we move on.

It's a completely different set up at Woking which is a part time club and many players had other jobs besides playing football. Limbrick deserves the chance at Town and knows the players and had over a year to work alongside some of them. He has the benefit of knowing everyone and he must have a few ideas at the back of his mind that he's not been allowed to try out. He deserves the first chance. We have some good young players and keeping them together is important.
Very sensible post, completely agree.

No, I personally don't feel has failed. Just highlighting the difficulties Limbrick will encounter. That said, I am actually glad he has gone as I failed to see any consistent style of play. On a real base level, very rarely did I feel entertained for my 20 quid.

If you go back to the Q&A with limbrick and Jolley they both said how they work as a team and lean on each other for ideas which leads me to one conclusion, limbrick was as much the problem as Jolley himself... To me he should've have followed hot on Jolleys heels and been shown the door..... He did nothing with Woking yet the following year, under a new manager, they all but stormed the league..says it all imho..
I might be wrong but I think Woking sold many of their better players from under Limbrick. I think they got relegated and then came back from Nat. League South. It's never quite straightforward...

Think you will find that due to the media coaching they get on the FA courses they nearly all spout the same old bland spiel, it's the nay your older ones like Warnock etc that sometimes go off track.

You are right Barra, they did sell their best players but, as I say, in my opinion I am weary of what limbrick can offer, hope he does okay because the one thing he seems to have is bucket loads of positivity and always comes across well in interviews...but have reservations and will hold them until he proves me wrong..

It can't have been that bland!
