Have to say that todays minutes silence and playing of the last post was probably the best observed i have ever witnessed at BP.  It is normally excellent but today i thought was exceptional.

Very emotional and fitting tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

Proud to be Mariner.

Turned on the Remembrance thing on BBC1 and turned it off again after a minute. It’s gone all showbiz with more effects lighting than Strictly. Inappropriate IMO.

You should have seen the person dressed as a Poppy before game today then. It is supposed to be a dignified, sombre event. Not flipping disneyland! Very well observed silence and last post.

I’m watching now Chris and the actors are talking through things that where written by people that where actually there, granted it’s theatrical but it’s based on fact which is good.

When I turned on it was talking about Monte Casino, my grandad served with the Guards there before being wounded ........ by American “friendly fire” later on in Italy.

It’s how they would have wanted to have been remembered. I think this year the legion have gone mental - people will always give money. Of all the charities they don’t need the gimmick factor.

Someone clearly disagrees.... maybe they've witnessed another such display at BP where everyone was even more impeccably observant of the silence and showed a greater level of respect. I agree totally with you though Moosey

I have to agree that was utterly naff.

It would also be nice if stewards stop fans going up the steps into the Youngs stand as you could hear their voices clearly.
