Just back in Grimsby after 12 hours on the M180/M1/M42/M5 - probably the shortest Just Back thread - stand out performers - all the Town fans that made the trip today.

Taking a break at Taunton Deane services when the news came through around 11.45. No doubt that some fans had made it all the way to Plymouth

I was on the train from Reading to Plymouth which had to be re-routed via Bristol due to trees on the line, when I heard it was off. Train didn't stop until Exeter so got off there and caught a train back towards London.
All the trains were running with a 50 mile speed limit so nearly all were running late meaning loads of connections were missed. I should have got a train from Reading to Basingstoke and then onto Woking. In the end I had to get a train towards Gatwick airport, then get off at Guildford and then to Woking.
I was relatively lucky as it was only a 400 mile round trip. Nowhere as bad as travelling from Grimsby to Plymouth and back.

Fair play to you guys . That’s dedication tested to the limit . I went on a minibus to Chester in August in about 2003 and it got cancelled when we got there due to a deluge of rain . At least we had the fun of an afternoon on the beers there before the bus home . Taunton deene services doesn’t have the same level of attraction . And it’s a few miles southbound until you can turn around to add insult to injury 😂😂

This is bad enough. I can’t imagine actually travelling to Plymouth from Grimsby and hearing the news, it would be even more devastating.

Pretty certain I was on your train - stuck it out until Plymouth cos I had pre booked tickets back to Ipswich, then went to Plymouth Marjon FC, think there were 3 or 4 other Town fans and a fair few Argyle there!

Just looked on Google maps. Grimsbty to Plymouth and back is just under 700 miles. I only had to travel 400 miles so was well lucky, relatively speaking.
