Great night - I was in the Pontoon, which was absolutely rocking that night

I was in the 'little club' after the match having a pint with Mick Brolly.
Super guy and very modest.

I was there half way up, centre behind the goal fags in the inside pocket because they always got squashed in a side pocket, your arms were pinned anyway.
I used to love it then especially when we tumbled down to the front during the corners,  health and safety heh!

I was at the back of the Pontoon, slightly to the left of the goal for both the Everton and Wolves matches. Couldn’t see a bloody thing but absolutely brilliant nights.

Me too in the Ponny in the middle. Packed like sardines in a tin. When the surge went it was ace. Every man for himself. The noise incredible. What an atmosphere. We can still create it though. Recently Chelsea away was brill and my 18 year old lad still talks of his away day at Palace. I think the surge is now a thing of the past with seating. Mind you, we could always do non-league again...

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. He looked seven stone wet through. He went on to score thirty-odd goals that season.' Lawrie McMenemy on encountering the legend that was Matt Tees.

Well oh well...looks like I've upset the Red Cross Police again...

Brian Kidd scored for Everton.  He had won (and scored)  the European Cup with United.  There must be a a number of other players who have played at BP who have won the CL or European Cup.

Garry Birtles is an obvious one.  Ruud Gullit I think.

Teddy Sherringham, Dwight Yorke?, Andy Cole.

Must be other Forest or Villa players.

Kevin Keegan and Ray Clemence?

Frank Lampard?

Sterling is a difficult one as he played at BP forr England under 16s (Think it was the U16s).

Can people think of others?

(There have also been some outstanding players at BP who did not win the CL/European Cup).
