What the latest is with the takeover/new ground.

Just heard on talksport about Southend building a new stadium as part of a major generation of the area, yet we've heard nothing off the club re our ground being part of the regeneration of Freeman street/the docks.

Yes I know this old ground but with the malaise now hanging over the football side of the club a little bit of positive news would be welcomed, well in all honesty any news would be welcomed .

Starting to feel like a mushroom as fan now, kept in the dark and fed excrement!!

Yes it makes you think doesn't it?

The last information we have is that Shutes was getting the funds and people together.  Since then nothing. From that we can reasonably assume that the money is not there so the deal cannot go ahead.

I think it's about time that there should be an update, since if it was going to happen it would have happened by now.

It seems that there is no money to fund this takeover, so it is reasonable to assume that it is a dead duck.

We're approaching November which means AGM and possibly a fans' forum, so an update on whatever progress has been made will surely be forthcoming.

These things are the most exciting events in a season now, can't wait.

Mr Fenty was on Look North last night, unless he hired a helicopter he missed the game, talking about where NE Lincs council want to put the travellers, perhaps he's thinking BP will be available soon.

I wouldn't say Southend's Fossetts Farm stadium was part of a regeneration. Looking at Google satellite images, it will be next to their cemetery and crematorium:

I imagine Mr Fenty thinks it is a great location.

Ah, Prittlewell. I got bored of going there years ago, now I miss it.

Post-match cheese and onion toasties in the boozer near the station. Just one more. And another. Missing the last train back to London. Singing in the rain as Big Keef knocks home the winner. Seeing us dominate the Shrimpers until Collymore came on and beat us single-handed. Daryl Clare banging it in from an impossible angle.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

That Daryl Clare moment was class, very atmosphere-producing shed of an away end and old school cramped in ground 👍

It was. Mind you not long before that we were in what was the open end before the new mini two-tier stand was built.

That old covered end reminds me a bit of Griffin Park too.

Surely the club should be looking to relocate, regardless of a possible takeover? Unless Mr Fenty feels that 9,000 is an adequate capacity for his current level of investment in the team?
