Let's not beat about the bush - i'm usually pretty positive, but that was drab as hell...good excuse to catch up with mates, but a waste of money otherwise.

We look so rigid and devoid of ideas going forward, and panic whenever we're in possession. So many times a ball was put into an area where the player with the ball thought someone should be, rather than just looking up and seeing where they actually are. That and hopeful punts. Ahkeem coming on, and frightening them with his pace/trying to force them into errors looked our most likely chance of scoring, aside from the Green/Hanson chance, which one of them should've buried.

As it stands though, I’m happy to try and see the bigger picture and realise we needed to stop the rot first and foremost. If we can kick on from here, then that’s all good. And given how the match played out, I’m happy with the point. Just a bit depressing how we offered so little and they were all over us, for all of the match.

Macca - 9 Solid game
Hendire - 8 Thought he did pretty well and regained some form
Ohmen - 9 Was outstanding for me especially after Saturday
Pollock - 9 Really only 18? one mega prospect
Waterfall - 8 Steady
Gibson - 8 Would have been a 9 but for the penalty
Whitehouse - 4 Couldn't pass the ball for Toffee and looks out of his depth, Robson much better
Hess - 6 Steady display but absolutely no help from the rest of the midfield and plays deep so cant effect the forward line
Hewitt - 6 Actually one of his better games in midfield but still not great, no problem with him at right back but not a mid for me.
Green - 8 I ve been critical of him lately but thought he kept and used the ball better despite having limited service, no understanding with Hanson though which is worrying and Ogbu maybe a better fit
Hanson -7 Won plenty of headers but missed a sitter, think he needs to communicate with his striking partners a bit more as they always seem to be miles from him.

Subs
Akheem - 8 Did ok and offered a threat, think he needs a run of games at some point up front but is that likely?
Davis - cant say much for the few minutes he was on.

Wish I had you marking my homework.

I thought Cambridge were similar to our style of play, admittedly they played some nice passes from the back, but their final plan seemed to be, to cross the ball to their strikers, which played into our hands, consequently few chances.

I completely disagree, now there may be some on here might suggest some of my comments are on the negative side but I thought the positives from last night's performance certainly outweighed the negatives.

The three centre-halves were giants all game, the players throwing themselves in front of shots certainly looked to me like they were playing for the team and the manager.

Yes I wouldn't look for that type of game going forward much but on the night I was really pleased.

Don't disagree that we defended well, and the players were committed to the cause. But if the only positive thing we can take from it is the fact we didn't concede and we defended well (for pretty much all of the game), then that's pretty drab, to me.

I'm still trying to figure out how the Cambridge player missed that rebound from the penalty last night.

It was far easier to score.

I agree Les. Looked so awkward, leaning back and probably panicked after the initial miss.
