Yeovil Town saw their ball boys SENT OFF by referee Aaron Johnson in a bizarre incident in the closing stages of the Glovers' 3-1 win over Bromley.

Johnson lost his cool after a ball boy in front of the Screwfix Stand twice failed to properly return the ball to Bromley's Sam Wood in the space of two minutes.

The National League game was briefly stopped while Johnson went to a steward to demand the ball boy's removal.

After a brief pause in which Yeovil players Lee Collins and Jimmy Smith both went to speak to the ball boy, he was persuaded to leave his position by a steward.

All of the other ball boys involved in the game then stood up and left the pitch, presumably under orders from Johnson that all of them had to go.

About bloody time

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

More referees should be doing this. Don't need another Swansea ball boy incident when they interfere in the game and cause a player to be sent off because of their actions. It's one of those things where it's a privilege to be a match day ball boy and they shouldn't be seeking to influence the game in any way. I know some clubs like to make sure they do act impartial and it should be cracked down on.

If this happened at Wimbledon with the tennis there would be outrage and they'd be removed for not behaving with respect so don't see why it's weird to take action in football.
