I have to say I would rather see Stevenage go out of the league than the Scunts.
I've been there twice and both times it was not a pleasant experience. Just a horrible little club with a chip on it's shoulder in my opinion.
I don't think we've played Scunny enough times recently to re-ignite the rivalry to the stage where them doing badly trumps all. Give it a couple of seasons of course and that may well change.
But until then, I'd rather see Chavanege drop out the league.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Wholly agree Civvy.

Contrition and apology over bra gate might have changed my mind. We all make mistakes. Nothing against Stevenage as a town or its residents. But the club can go fcuk itself.

It's just a shame they both can not go down this season.

BUT

I agree we have had some really good derby games in past years so it would be good to get back to them with the Scunts.

Maybe after they have had 3 or 4 years in the conference.

For some reason I would always rather see a southern team go than a northern one.

Maybe my draggings up as a northerner. Maybe it’s just the dishwater ale.

I remember my inverted snob* mate coming down to visit me at university in Kent, giving it the “I’m a northerner me”, and “I’m a werkin’ man, I can hold my ale”. Needless to say he got bladdered on the “soft southern, flat beer” in Canterbury, while it was us students who helped him on and off the bus home 😆

School sent me for trials for Scunthorpe boys (schools not club). Got picked as a sub against Huddersfield at The Old Showground. We won 7-1 but the Slade lookalike teacher/ manager kept his subs on the bench.
I have decided to let go my bitterness of 55 years and put Stevenage into Room 101.

Hurst is too good to be in lower leagues and he will keep them up even if it is 35  0-0 draws on the trot.

Stevenage replaced us when we got relegated in 2010 so it would close the loop.

I would rather Scunthorpe stay up as it is a well attended fixture.  Stevenage at home we would get 4000 fans whilst Scunthorpe at home will be a gate of 7000 plus.

My brother used to live in Stevenage and sort of remember after a drink fuelled night, going round the majority of snow covered cars and writing GTFC on their back windows!

I agree Golfer (with that small proviso!) he will keep them up. The percentage game will work in the end.

Phew......

Personally Stevenage........ Then again if the Scunts did go down I'd like RH to try and justify the amount of air time and coverage they get each week on the football forum versus the standard GTFC snapshot,

I started watching town in 1965 ( home games only ) and in Easter 1966  Scunthorpe were the first team that I watched town lose to. That rancour, bitterness and hatred has never left me. I will only feel relief from that pain when I see our Ferrous Five Fingered Friends playing the likes of Barton OB, Skegness or Goole on a regular basis.

I would happily send Steveneage out the door with a flick of the V’s. Not a club I like. Shame Cheltenham aren’t down there. and see ya.
