Sometime you just need to give respect to the opposition..... Does what it says on the thread title. Seen some amazing goals in my time against our beloved Town. List yours. Mine. Muzzy Izzet - Leicester - insane overhead kick (I remember getting slapped on the back of the head for applauding it when I sat in the Pontoon) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6OHXjh2CLkI also remember (showing my age now) Linekar scoring with an overhead kick n 1981 (I looked it up on that there internet) in a 2-2 draw at BP.

Yup you could see and hear the whole ground applauding it really was a sunning goal but the guy that got the cross in did a remarkable job to stay upright after skipping a sliding tackle at full pelt, then launching a marverlous cross in from right near the corner flag.
Never noticed that bit at the time was still drooling from Izzets overhead kick LOL.

That was a fantastic goal and you’d be hard pushed to witness a better goal than that at BP, I can remember the town fans applauding that too.

I was right behind that Izzet goal in the Pontoon. Caught it sweet as a nut. I was sat quite low down, so my view was obscured a bit by the goal net in front of me. Had no idea how far out he was until I saw it on the telly.

I was sat in the Main stand and we all applauded that goal.
While we are talking special goals how about the own goal by the Wolves player from about 25 yards when we beat them 5-1, sorry can not do the link thingy.

Izzet has to be the best goal I've witnessed although the Pouton OG v Reading was an absolute classic.
I remember Macca (the original) shooting from the right wing, just before the halfway line against Walsall I believe. The wind assisted it and the keeper just tipped it over for a corner. That would have been some goal if it had gone in.

You mean the own goal when their defender chipped the keeper when under pressure from Tony Ford?

Mentioning own goals, i remember Tom Newey mishitting a backpass that forced Phil Barnes into a really good save.
What about the Futcher; Crichton one at forest?

Beat me to it Abdul... I was just about to say it was a brilliant strike by Keanu Marsh-Brown... if we'd have scored something similar we'd have been going on about it for ages The moment he let fly with that one, it was a like a guided missile that took the wind right out of our sails for a while Fortunately we had the last minute Nathan Arnold drama to come but it was a sickener to see such a sweet goal from FGR go in at that stage of the game

Muzzy izzet. I thought we played better than leicester, I think groves got our goal. Who got the other for leicester? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/2504277.stm Jamie scowcroft for them. Oster for us. Not sure who was supposed to score the goals in that squad. They had dickov, scowcroft, benjamin and Marcus Stewart on the bench

That Izzet goal will always be the away goal I remember. Interesting to see the clip of the Wolves game , an era of football attendances at an all time low highlighted by the fact Wolves couldn't even fill the Osmand corner.I'm pretty sure also around this time that we had two strikers picked for the England U21's in Wilkinson and Lund.Ace times to be growing up a stones throw from the ground with one of the best Town sides I've seen.

The Izzet goal will take some beating, but we were on the receiving end of some cracking goals in our non-league days.
Jason Walker’s overhead kick is also one of the few opposition goals I’ve clapped:
This one wasn’t bad either:

That was the time when Wolves were in serious trouble and were plunging down the divisions. I think a lot of their fans were boycotting their games at the time.
Think this was at the start of it. Their first season outside the old First Division (for the youngsters this was the proper First Div , ie what is called the Premier League now). Widely expected to bounce straight back. They went down again with a bloated squad of overpaid players, eventually ending up in the Fourth Division.
