Don't be starting with that shite B..iron...we had enough of the idiot shoving 15 year stars down our throat..
You've been quite composed and articulate, reasoned and family balanced to date, don't ruin it now!!next you'll be giving it "the claret and blue wizards".🤣
And you think you had it bad going to Swindon and having it called it off last minute, Christ that's a short trip up the M1 compared to our game at Plymouth getting called off @lastminute.com.
Love the rivalry, the banter, the undoubted bitterness/loathing between our fans and as I've said before, I want that for next season, unfortunately I can see it being the last season for a while...can see us pulling away from you in league status over the coming years!!..

I've got to dish out some stick from time to time whilst i can. Thank you for the compliments though, genuinely appreciate that. It's great to have a bit of fun on here and have a genuine football debate with you lot.  No denying i hate Grimsby Town but some of you lot on here has made me realise you actually can have banter without it turning nasty all the time. "Claret and blue wizards"   never heard anyone call us that before. You seriously think Holloway will get you promoted?  he is still very much in a honeymoon period. Do you have more money to spend now than in the past?

Just over 2 weeks until the big derby.  More of the same again please, Kev.

Ferrous fingered? that sounds terribly wrong.  Fully aware of our history my fishy friend.  we're a small town that have punched above our weight for years. Grimsby  has a far bigger catchment area than what Scunny have.

Scunny’s population is smaller than GY’s but half our ‘catchment area’ is the sea if you draw a circle round the town. Draw the same sized circle round Scunny and it’s all land. I guess people round that way would rather go shopping in Donny than watch the Iron.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

The money we have to spend will depend on season ticket sales, so on current feeling, probably yes. But money isn't the only factor in success, look at the teams that have been promoted and relegated in the last few seasons. What we currently have is a feel good factor and confidence, and that is priceless. It doesn't guarantee anything, but if we can keep good form and play this way until the end of the season, then I think next season will have a sort of positivity about the club that we haven't had probably since 97/98.

The most positive thing for me is that Holloway seems to have a good relationship with his players, like Hurst did, but also his reputation and personality make him popular with the fans too. Of course, it could just be the honeymoon period, but players wanting to sign for him multiple times and at a lower level than they could play at and probably on lower wages suggests to me that we are heading in the right direction.

Yet you refer to us as " codheads " ,and that is so wrong! Every Grimbarian knows that we eat haddock ! We used to feed any cod we had to the cat or sell it to gullible Scunts and Yorkies.

Another of your ferrous fingered brood, Stevie Cammack, who used to post on here quite recently , used that description for your team. Unless, of course, he was an original  Iron's supporter  ( West Ham ) and he got on the wrong message board!

Some of us are old enough to remember your real glory years.

Barry Thomas, John Kaye, Ken Jones, Hubbard and Brownsword ....... the latter’ s penalties.

Tom Taylor, Graham’s dad, reporting as Poacher in the Football Telegraph.

Ah yes ..... jumpers for goalposts and all that.

….. and of course before they got voted into the Football League, the highlight of their season was playing Grimsby Town Reserves.

To be fair, GTFC were only prevented from going into non-league in 1955 by re-election through the old boys network and the boxes of fish we used to give to visiting directors.

The glory days that my Grandad fondly recalls to me. Jackie Brownsword and Barrie Thomas the notable ones. He said he never truly forgave the club for selling Barrie Thomas to Newcastle, we'd have reached the top flight with him.  Graham Taylor grew up not too far from where I live, a footballing legend that was proud of his Scunny roots. You see, us Scunny fans aren't all bad you know!
