Lots of cancellations today. Only a few trains Doncaster to Leeds. A lot have been cancelled. Still nothing between Doncaster and Sheffield/Manchester.

We should have gone in the car!

A handful of mariners just got on the Barrow train at Piccadilly (changing at Lancaster)

Hope people going by other routes get there in good time

Sorry if you tried this, however, some East Coast mainline trains go from Grantham to York.  Then 30 mins to Leeds.  I have been stranded in Grantham with line failures north of Grantham and they rerouted us.  Good luck anyway.

At Leeds waiting for next Morecambe train. Get us there at 14.24 so looks like taxi to ground.

If it's a Northern train then that's one of the more modern.

Your 1986 train at Leeds was probably brand-new when it arrived at the platform - such are the chaotic delays.

I’ve probably worked on that train - it looks old but it’ll get you there. Just make sure you wash your hands after you get off it as they’re hideously dirty things.

Thank you Northern Rail, train back is only 32 years old. A year makes all the difference. None of this air con stuff, just proper windows that open and let the rain in.

Anyway last train of the day. Class 81 for possibly the last time before the AZUMA takes over.

Cannot wait to try AZUMA!

Anyway, I had advance tickets for today from Grimsby via Sheffield and Manc Picc to Morecambe. These where accepted on reasonable routes today...I'll be able to claim the full price of my tickets back today with delay repay compo, yippee, free travel !!

Epic chaos on trains makes trips more intresting, I would never have gone Leeds to Morecambe given the choice, been thru paces I've never known exsisted today

Trainspotters!

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
