I thought this was an interesting quote from Jolley in the Telegraph:

“I know what the line-up is now, that is barring anybody else coming into the building.”

You can infer from that that he’s working on something, but you probably wouldn’t throw a loanee youngster or someone who had spent the summer as a free agent straight into the starting line-up after signing a day or two before, would you?

It did make me think, even before this news, that we may be looking at a more senior pro already at a club, so you never know. It would be some coup, but I’m sure it was mooted when we supposedly came close to signing him in January that he’s married to a Hull girl and that he owns a property in the area. No idea if either of those things are true.

Think I may have been guilty of putting this in people's minds.
I work with someone close to his family and the words used were..
" David wants to come back to the area for family reasons and Grimsby were offering him a lifeline"..
Not long after this conversation he joined Coventry on loan..
Plus he's on £12 and half K a week at the mo.,..
To be honest I was probably spun a line and at the time I wanted to believe it .
Right now, I can't see this happening although he'd certainly be a class above in league 2...

When this story was doing the rounds a few weeks ago did not David Myler himself ring sports talk on RH to confirm he definitely  wasn't signing for Grimsby.

So basically, if the good women of Grimsby start hob nobbin with  the Premierships elite, wedding bells chime etc
We stand a good chance of signing a Few internationals?

Christ you all wanted him sacked a few months ago. 6th place finish and he's now the messiah and can do no wrong
Update:  I think I've got this right - He was the messiah. He then wasn't. He then was again. Then it turned out he actually wasnt. He turned into one big huge messiah again. Now he's not actually the messiah we thought he was . Now I'm hoping he rises again quickly

Women of North East Lincs, you know your duty! Get your glad rags on and get down to the clubs of Liverpool, Manchester and London. Grimsby expects!

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
