Now, I'm not saying this is what Shutes is but the apparent lack of ability to prove funds is quite worrying to me. Also, with people like Shutes you have to ask yourself "what's in it for them?" because unless I'm mistaken he isn't a fan in the same way that Fenty or Bill Carr are/were fans. Just think we should be a little careful what we wish for.

Some fan Fenty is, dragged us into non-league for 6 years and treats every paying customer like something he’s scraped off his shoe, wouldn’t back the only manager who’d managed a promotion in 20 years then blamed the fans for it.
People say football’s a business - maybe it’s time for someone actually interested in running the club that way then, rather than a self-serving boys’ club vanity project?

Never said you were but this perpetual deference to what must be the worst owner the club has ever had is absolutely pathetic. Regardless of the reasons for Fenty’s continued dominance over the club, maybe having someone in the chair who actually wants to make money through getting people through the turnstiles might actually be a good thing? How many more examples of Fenty pissing money and opportunities down the drain do people need before they start questioning him? |

When you buy a house you don't have to show proof of funds before they let you inside the estate agents.
But you do have to have the cash or a mortgage before it goes ahead. |

Nothing like our scenario at all. And the ability to fund the purchase of a football club has nothing to do with how someone behaves one they own it. |

All life is a risk. Fenty has proven to be one hell of a risk - nobody asked for or wanted us stuck in division 4 after nearly 20 years, with 6 of those out of the league altogether and still owing him the money he leant us. Fenty has been a disaster. The only thing that has saved us is the fact that the fans have stayed quite loyal and have kept the club solvent. I am sure that Tom Shutes would like the club to become part and parcel of the towns regeneration - if he makes some money then good for him. |
