Butty. You’re coming across as a bit of a helmet to be honest. Your story changes more than the weather during a standard British summer.

If  all his posts on this thread plus the ones directly responding to them were deleted I bet the thread would make a lot more sense. Pity he’s not a Yorkie “Hear all, see all, say nowt.”

There you go.  Amended accordingly 😄

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Yes. At a shareholders meeting a couple of years ago. It was something along the lines of 'no previous owner has had to write off loans so why should I?'.

The shareholding is in addition to the loans. To buy him out completely you would need to buy out both.

I think the outstanding loan balance is still close to £2mill. As for assets, what is Blundell Park worth? The site is probably around four acres or so. If it were sold for building land it would be worth around £600k to £800k at current market rates, but that is after getting planning consent, which would probably cost at least £50k, and the demolition of the stadium which would also cost thousands. So the net value of the ground is far less than the loans and shareholding.

That means that the best way of getting the loans, or some of them back, is to do a deal with a new owner, rather than put the club into administration. Not that JF, to his credit,  has ever suggested he would do that. But it looks very much like getting cash from the new owners would be the best way of cutting losses.

But weren't a large part of the loans incurred when JF " stepped in " to cover the previous regimes mismanagement? He could so easily have walked away at the time. Before " the regulars " jump on my back for defending him , which I'm not, I'm merely pointing out how the whole situation as regards loans panned out in the first place. I hope this deal does go through as it will mean a whole new start for the club for that is something I want as much as anyone

Why does Mr. Fenty always talk in a language that seems to make sense only to him? There is never a straightforward sentence in answer to simple questions.

I have just read "consummate the facts" in the Telegraph interview. We all have our own ways of speaking obviously, but it intrigues me why he always searches for a difficult word when a simple one would suffice. To me, he always sounds like he is trying too hard.

Whilst I do not process. To know an awful lot about the financial commitments of the directors on the GTFC Board, I can’t understand why the current incumbents have such an influence if the figures below are correct:

Shares owned by current board members...

£975,000 - Fenty
£3,200 - Marley
£2,500 - Day
£500 - Chapman
£500 - Wood

Surely there are other liabilities that these directors are responsible for? Or Ian it just more ‘benign loans’ that continue to shackle this Club. It’s truly disgraceful. I remember my late Grandad (God Bless Him), referring to them as hangers on and contributing to the Club with a few Premium Bonds!! I guess this is what he was referring to!!

Whilst I know that JF has made many mistakes but he has guided us through a financial crisis, make no bones about it that this deal does not rest on the suitable custodians of this Football Club but more the best deal possible to line his pocket.

Surely, at the end of this reign, your success can only be measured on how and where you have taken this Football Club. For him to ‘break even’ after two decades of demise is totally unacceptable.

This leadership has not been about the best interests of a football Club but one of a ‘self induced obsession with promoting his own ego’.

It’s  time to let go, take your shackles with you and pay on the gate like every other fan!!

I believe some of the other Directors bring other "expertise", one is a former Accountant and I am sure another Director has additional "skill sets", I suppose you can't put a value so easily to that.

Let's hope that all of this can be brought to a conclusion that sees a new era dawn...

Mr Fenty's cash may well have rescued us, his close eye on costs kept us solvent, but his control has stifled us, and ultimately condemned us to stagnation.

He's a man of contradictions, anyone who can say “I think I’ve shown huge humility in the way I've acted....." with no sense of irony lacks a certain self-awareness...  At the same time nobody really doubts he's a a fan.

In terms of his 'legacy' maybe his regime will be judged more kindly in the longer term if he hands on the ship to those who can bring transformation to both our club and town.  Perhaps then he may be viewed as someone who stood in the gap - even if he ended up being there longer than he or (m)any of us wanted.

I dread to think how his legacy will be viewed if he fails to close this or a similar deal and we have more years in the wilderness - especially if it is the loans that prove to be the deal-breaker.
