If England are one of the favourites (which I doubt - probably just hype to get people watching) then the standard leaves a lot to be desired.

If the same standard of men’s football got the same coverage then we could look forward to seeing the Northern League live on a the box. If not Clee’s level.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

No it’s because the women have a genuine chance of winning it , on the other hand our men are forced to play a way they can’t really do and won’t win f all

Watched the women last night, Mens game eng v Scots would be a sell out in a euro or world finals last night half the stands were empty yet a former wimmin footballer was whinging the other day about how unfair it was that they got less prize money than the men😅

The prize money (just like the wages) in both mens and womens football will surely be related to the income it generates.  As the womens game get more publicity and increases in popularity I would expect to see a rise in both.  If (and I personally don't see it happening soon) a woman plays professionally for a league, I would sincerely hope she would on a wage equivalent of her male counterparts.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

The women's game has got a long way to go, but when you consider how much the quality has improved in even 5 years, there's a bright future.

I got back from a weekend in  northern France early this morning having been to a couple of games, not England unfortunately  as Nice was too far away. It's a friendly tournament, the locals were very welcoming and I did manage to get a couple of photo's of my GTFC flag at the games of course - but not on telly. Anyone who thinks that it's going to be of a similar standard to the men is missing the point. This is why it only costs Nine euro's to get a sensible seat and the costs in the area doesn't go through the roof as it does when I have had the "pleasure" of watching England men play away. Ladies football has come on leaps and bounds over the last few years and the new GTFC ladies team is fantastic news. My daughter (ST holder at BP) loves it that the women are getting more and more coverage. I'm not going to go all Steve Wraith on this but if 50% of the population are getting more involved in football that can't be a bad thing.

Absolutely ridiculous coverage from the BBC.

Radio 4 sports bulletin at 8.25am consisted entirely of the women's football and an interview with some wittering chap about the game yesterday.

Not a mention of

1) F1 and the controversy around Hamilton's win
2) Australia v India cricket world cup
3) England men's game
4) Mcilroy winning a golf tournament over the pond with a last round of 61
5) Nadal winning a record 12th French Open

But we are all wrong:
The BBC says it was a massive success. Repeat - A MASSIVE SUCCESS.
