People seem to forget that both Ring and Ohman joined straight from the off season in Sweden, with no pre-season.  Ring has said himself that he needs to do better next season.  I hate how players can get written off by Town fans so quickly.

I think you mean fans in general.

I hate how some traits of football fans in general sometimes get attributed to just ‘town’ fans !!

However your point is valid as such. Some folk need to give players a chance. We expect a manager to have a full season, including pre-season before being judged. Let’s afford players the same chance.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

It's not a matter of pretending that other fans don't do the same things, but we're talking within the context of Grimsby Town so why reference other fans.

Maybe he hates how Town fans write off players quickly but doesn’t give a excrement how fans of other clubs behave.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

You don’t have to reference other fans. But if it’s a general thing you don’t have to reference ‘Town’ either.  It infers it’s a Town fan’ issue when in fact it’s an issue with fans in general.
I do admit it’s a pet hate of mine when someone seems to think it’s typically ‘Town’ or  ‘the fishy’ when actually it’s typical of fans or forums worldwide.

Ring is a young man who has taken a very big decision to move to another country to ply his trade,

Given he was in his own countries close season when he came into our team it was not surprising he might have struggled at first ,we have seen this many times in the prem when a highly rated player failed to shine in his first season,

I expect a big improvement from him this coming season and if he does not deliver he should be thanked for his effort and for trying to improve himself in a different environment  .

I'm slightly concerned that Ring looked a bit slow and also lightweight. Otherwise a decent enough footballer with the ball at his feet, but you need to be able to cope with the physical side of the game and, ideally, you want a wing-back to have a bit of pace.

Hopefully, he'll come back after the summer and show a good deal of improvement.

Ohman seemed to lunge in a bit rather too often. Probably wouldn't have been an issue a decade ago, but we know that referees are now instructed to severely penalise strong challenges which could be considered 'dangerous'. The number of red cards we have received in recent seasons which would barely have merited a yellow in 10 or 20 years ago must be high.

Hopefully, we'll have a bit more of an effective shape to the team next season which would mean Ohman isn't exposed as much and therefore can avoid the strong, lunging challenges for which he was often penalised. If I was going to be cynical, I'd say that players in top half teams probably get away with these more often than those lower down the table so fingers-crossed, we can make a decent push for the play-offs!

I like Ring personally and like others think he will do much better after having this pre season and hopefully he will be more accustomed to Lg 2.
