I’ve got a feeling these players who are choosing to leave probably know they’re going to get a lot less game time next season and are finding new clubs . Probably in the conference as I can’t see clubs queuing up to sign the likes of them .

I also think it also depends on the nature of the "extension" we have on the contract as well. If we triggered Davies extension then maybe this was because we knew of interest in him (from the North West).

If we have triggered this we should at least get a fee now if he does leave, assuming a fee would not put off potential suitors. I am a little bit surprised we did not do this with Whitmore as well. As at worst he would have been a decent back up player at best we could have got a small fee for him.

As they use the fishy as their main "sauce" expect that to alter shortly

I really don’t know what the fuss is about him if he does leave . He’s a bang average player imo who was part of a pretty bang average team that finished 17th ffs . I reckon it’s a good thing that all these players are going. With any luck we’ll find better who weren’t happy to get the sun loungers out by mid feb .

I think the idea is to hang onto our competent performers like the three defenders who have left or about to leave and try and add some above average players to improve the team. It would be nice to keep players more than one season to create partnerships and continuation increases the chance of players gelling by knowing each other's games inside out. I actually thought that Davis and Whitmore made an above average partnership for this division on the few times MJ put them together.

Now we're at the point of trying to find some "bang average" players and hope that they're as competent as the three that have left before even trying to find improvements. Remember we've got less than a "bang average" budget. Personally I'm disappointed that we've lost all three (if the reports are true about Davis, maybe he's putting a little come and get me advert out there), because apart from the left hand side, our defence seemed like it was the last area of our team that needed overhauling now Collins has gone..

Quoted from Mariner Timsky
He signed a year deal last summer - he has given it a go and decided to head back to where he feels more comfortable

The problem is loyalty - if only we had a team of Jimmy Mac's, feel like we've got lucky with him - nobody else wants to stick around

He put a transfer request in as soon as he was dropped, not much loyalty there.

I guess you can look at this two ways.

I’d rather have someone that wants to play every game than someone prepared to toss it off in the reserves and still get paid.
The fact that there wasn’t a song and dance about it at the time says to me it was all done correctly !!

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

You wonder if a team like Salford have enquired probably looking to bolster along with Pond, Piergianni has been excellent for them but he's now jumping 2 leagues with them now so maybe there looking at someone like Davis to bolster the ranks a bit.

Pure speculation on my part but you never know.

It seemed common knowledge that a lot of the more experienced players did not like Bignot. Macca was probably one of them. It's one thing loving a club, but if you're not playing and you're not getting on with the manager, then it's probably time to leave..
