I assume you mean 'drivel' John.

There are plenty of people amongst the fans who have lots of experience in all manner of businesses in many different specialist functions. The fact that you don't think anyone but John Fenty knows what he's doing doesn't mean others don't have a clue. Of course most people realise that there are unique features to running a football club (as there are with many different types of business)!

As for your (presumably sarcastic) comment about there being plenty of people wanting to invest in clubs like GTFC, that's a complete non sequitur to the point.

It seems to me, and the point has been highlighted by both Mr Fenty and Pen Penfras, that the board believe that you are either pro-Fenty or anti-Fenty and there isn't an in-between. What they can't seem to handle is that other people may have valid opinions and ideas that may or may not be worth consideration - it's either their way or just plain wrong.

If we're apparently in getting our facts right season, the past 15 years is not a litany of success (fact) and it would appear to me to be sensible to spend a little more time planning to make things better and a little less time antagonising an already frustrated and increasingly less patient group of supporters.

Cant be easy running a club to be fair and like most on here i dont have sodomist all in my bank so cant put my money where my mouth is.
But if any of you think you have some expertise to help take the club forward then offer your services, im sure people could volunteer ideas to Fenty and he may even listen.
If someone shows promise im sure he could offer a job if it raises large amounts of Capital for the club to take it forward.

Not fentys biggest fan at all but if no one puts there money in then they must have something else to offer.

Its a stalemate at the moment so bout time some of you geniuses with the big ideas actually talked to fenty IF he will listen. keyboards are a fine thing and easy to type on.

We do need big change at the club but how is it gonna happen.

Nonsense, you constantly defend him. It's a simple solution, given that the board situation is as murky as ever, and that it's close season and there are no matches to talk about and off the field stuff will be even more focussed on that you take a back seat from it, let the threads rumble on and let people let off steam about the dire situation of things.
15 years would be an awful long time to dig thigs up from in most arguments, however it's 15 years of my club being eroded and turned into a shadow of iself...we're talking about traits then I give you a couple..

“Manners and politeness will never become old-fashioned.” (Pin this on the wall behind JF and his cronies at the next fans forum)

and of course..
"Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

etc....it's gonna be a long message board summer for you I fear.

Like I said, that post from me didn't defend JF. I hope it is a long and a hot summer so I have lots of things to remember during the cold winter weather. This message board will be very low on my list of priorities. Two weeks in Bulgaria and some time with my daughters in Florida should set me up nicely.

Unfortunately many on here already have and been met with a brick wall. Any ideas for change or betterment put forward won't be accepted because a change of ideology in the boardroom would be needed. It's my opinion from personal experience that the custodians think they always know better and believe they're doing a better job than anyone could. Every time one of them speaks they do it in a condescending tone. I've heard the phrase ordinary people used about the fans more than once. It's extremely difficult to convince a self-made millionnaire, a fully qualified accountant and a fully qualified solicitor of their shortcomings let alone that they're wrong on any subject. It's a huge part of the problem and transcends down to the operational staff who also believe they're a well-oiled machine. Passionate fans with criticisms or different ideas to their own are seen as a problem or annoyance rather than a source of feedback or information..

I really don't know? You tell me? I've seen nothing change in the past decade

Yeah, without checking I imagine we are the only club in the EFL who have the same sponsor on front of shirt, back of shirts and back of shorts. The same exclusive sponsor for 15 years and shirt manufacturer for 11 years and counting tells you everything.

I honestly have no doubt in my mind John fenty is town through and through but the truth is we are way behind were we need to actually be..

I mean for example the stadium thing is a farce and our playing budget is probably in the lower end in terms of competing, I just honestly feel we are a club that ticks over every year without the actual ambition of wanting to do anything other than stay in football league.

I agree with most of that but the point about John Fenty being a fan is getting rather dated now isn't it?

If virtually the only thing he can offer the club is being "a fan" then what is the point? We are all fans, but the point is that he chose to take the club on (kudos for that) but has done next to nothing with it apart from cement his place as owner and shutting other people out because of his loans.

What does he want to do with it??????

If it needs sponsoring, Young’s go on it. The problem is,  there will be a time when they say ‘no more’.  Is the company still up for sale? And is the company still having a few financial issues?  The club always go for the easy option.

As for a kit supplier,  from what I have seen, a number of clubs are in massively long-term deals with Errea.  And I don’t think it is for the quality of product. My guess is there a few back handers going on, it’s an Italian brand afterall. If the club were to change brands surely sales would go up, we all own career everything surely a new brand would bring a new appetite for off the field apparel.

Does a poster on here work for a sports brand?

...............and the best way for the club to avoid doing anything better or different, is to say that everything is ok at the moment.

Plenty of people have done tht with club and trust and been given the bum's rush.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.

Erm I did. We spoke to town. Kits were drawn up and a deal put on the table. But for whatever reason it wasn’t meant to be. I left very soon after.

I have the presentation kicking about somewhere if anyone is interested.
