Unfortunately that would involve some much needed self review from Town's hierarchy.

More chance of Cardwell transforming into Clive Mendonca over this summer than anyone at the top of the club actively partaking in investigating how clubs like Burton, Accrington, Rochdale AFC Wimbledon etc. maintain L1 football as we struggle to finish above bloody Morecambe.

It is obvious by Mr.Fenty's recent post on here and what is in the Telegraph today the guy genuinely thinks he has done alright. It makes you want to pull your hair out.

It doesn't help when people are calling him out for crap 'stewardship' one minute, then cream their pants when he deigns to say something on here and he ends up as 'Poster of the Week'.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

So true, no doubt he has printed the Poster of the week thread and it is now proudly framed on a wall at his Lordship's mansion.

But do you think that the risk of going back to non-league , due to reduced income , is worth it just to replace JF who has said he wants out anyway?

Obviously there's no counterfactual but I would bet big that if we'd gone through 15 years ago and started again as a Phoenix club we'd be there or thereabouts where we are in the pyramid now, possibly league 2 or conference with Zero debt rather than our muli million pound benign loan legacy.

The trouble is a lot of people hang on his every word and a lot of others when he speaks hope he will enter into some meaningful dialouge . If seen as he deemed to comment on the post he read through it all he has been asked some very good and reasonable questions . He has chosen not to answer any of them I find that frustrating  .

And the frightening thing is.. What's the line that always gets trotted out to emphasise that by GTFC just existing JF's reign is a triumph?

"At least we're not Stockport, Darlington, York or Chester." Even though we were never really like any of them in the first place.

Well, it could conceivably happen in the next twelve months that we fall behind or are alongside Stockport in the pyramid and York have got their new stadium built and could quite easily be playing us in the next year or two.

That's two of the clubs that we should be grateful we're not on an upward curve while we could be spiralling downwards or static at best. A couple more Fyldes get up along with Wrexham, Chesterfield, Hartlepool etc and in five or ten years time the mantra will be..

"How can we expect to compete with the big boys in League Two when we're here in the Conference with less than 2k crowds and the eleventh best budget"

Without serious investment or regime change, I can see this as a much more likely scenario than ever playing in League One, nevermind Championship in what is it now? Four year's time..

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Jesus’ disciple Peter, picked up a fish to get the tribute money from it, Jesus left his thumb print on the fish, bless'ed is the Haddock.
