As per previous thread that I can’t find, it appears that the end is nigh.

Not sure things are going to be easy for Gateshead. From challenging near the top to almost becoming extinct is not a scenario that any true football fan would wish to see. I hope they can get it all sorted but they have no players, manager or admin staff at the moment. There is an awful lot to sort out and I just hope it works out. At this level we should all support each other because if clubs fold it weakens the pyramid.  Best of luck, Gateshead.

They were in the league from 1930ish to 1960ish so that's exactly what they are!

Not so sure you can consider them the same club. Seems bit of a franchise failure according to this from Wiki:

'The original Gateshead club was formed in 1899 as South Shields Adelaide and became members of the Football League in 1919. In 1930 financial problems saw the club moved to Gateshead, where they adopted the name of their new town. However, the club was voted out of the Football League in 1960 and folded in 1973. History repeated itself as the South Shields club formed to replace the original one was also moved to Gateshead, becoming Gateshead United in 1974. However, they were dissolved at the end of the 1976–77 season. A new club was established, taking over from United in the Northern Premier League.'

So two clubs formed in South Shields. Both moved to Gateshead because they couldn't support the club there and both failed in their new locations.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

The Gateshead OS claims it as their history, but that does sound rather franchisey.

30 years of league history then 🤔 and even that appears sketchy

I can remember them playing Town at Blundell Park as a League Club in the Third Division (North). I think they failed to be re-elected and Peterborough United got voted into the League
