Sad to see him pass away at 74. I was never a Liverpool fan but he was a hell of a player in a great side.

What a side Liverpool had in the 70's and 80's

Who'd have thought they wouldn't win the title for such a long time....might change this season though.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Which is a joke no one under 50 would get.

Liverpool would probably have not been the force they were without a Tommy Smith. When you look at sides like Dirty Leeds in those days.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Bobby famously showed Hunter that his biting days were over.

Some years ago, didn't he lose his disability allowance for taking a legends penalty at half time in front of the Kop?

It was at Wembley. He had a plastic hip, two plastic knees and a plastic elbow.

I make no comment on his personality because I don't think he was a very nice man, but as a player he was phenomenal for his leadership and he was a better player on the ball than many who just saw him as a hard man gave him credit for. You didn't get into teams run by the likes of Shankley and Revie by just being a thug.
