Stumbled across this about Charles I'Anson for those that are interested. He mentioned us and why he left because we wouldn't pay him an extra £100..

Interesting read.

I seem to remember Scott or Hurst saying something typically disparaging about him after he left.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,

For some reason Hurst felt the need to say that I'Anson's left foot was the worst he'd ever seen.

He looked a good talent to lose over £100 what a shame

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: What's an IQ? - George Best

Having said that ,and as much as I liked charlie, he is playing in the Spanish third division which has tended to be his level, so hurst might not have been totally wrong

Charlie mentioned his foot injury when he was at Elche. Might have limited his career since then.

He was excellent whilst here, and those idiots Hurst and Scott made a mistake pushing him out.

Because he's gone on to have a glittering career in Spain since he left us...

Perhaps, just perhaps, Paul Hurst knows a little bit more about player ability than you or I?!?

Wasn't he replaced by Ian Miller? I'd take that swap, any day of the week.
