I wonder what odds you would get for the four English club to be drawn against each other on Friday

Well the odds would be the only point of interest. I doubt they could field an English XI between them.

I'm no fan of The Big 4 or The Champions League but if you're going to slag them off at least get the facts right.

A very strong English contingent and enough players to field at least two XI's actually. Just need to find a couple of decent English keepers.

Jones, Smalling, Young, Shaw, Trippier, Rose, Walker-Peters, Gomez, Alexander-Arnold, Walker, Stones
Lingard, Winks, Dier, Foden, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Milner, Henderson, Lallana, Delph, Alli,
Rashford, Kane, Sturridge, Sterling.

And Chelsea and Arsenal reach the last 8 of the Europa League......English football is back.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Fans of the big 6 slag the lower leagues off without knowing much about it but it’s just as bad the other way round. That combined squad is a keeper away from making a World Cup semi final.

Well there's a 3 in 35 chance of it happening (8.6% or 11.7:1 against)... so I'd guess you'd get odds somewhere around 8:1!

Guaranteed at least one pair drawn together as UEFA wont want to risk all 4 English clubs in the semis

A fairly safe bet seeing as there was a 68% chance of it happening

Checkatrade Trophy must be the reason English clubs are doing so well this season.

I think grimsby being out of and then back in in the football league has coincided with the fall and rise of english football. Youre welcome everyone

Either that or the billions of pounds of dodgy money pumped in by the foreign owners of said clubs over the past few years.

Don’t recall Spurs spending too much cash or having squillions pumped in. Thought the view is Glazers take money out Man Utd rather than put it in and they probably generate enough dosh to cover their expenditure. Probably applies to Man City and the Bindippers though 😄

Yup. All we need now is ‘b’ teams in the league and we’ll be lifting that trophy in Qatar for sure 😉

It’s coming home !!

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Spurs have been copying the Arsenal route of keeping things tight as they build their new stadium. This helps to explain why they haven't won any sort of a trophy for around 12 years and none of the more 'prestigious' ones since 1991. They've done well to get to the quarter-finals this season, but let's not forget that Leicester did the same a couple of years back themselves and they weren't spending much either. The big bonus for them is that they developed Harry Kane themselves instead of having to buy a top class striker. Not many teams manage this and this helps to explain their relative success in recent seasons despite lack of net expenditure.

The Glazers certainly are making a mint from Manyoo, but they have spent masses on players over the past few years as well.

It's all relative, of course. The amount of money the 'Big Four' (or 5 or 6) get from TV deals and the Chumps League is just ridiculous these days, even without their owners chucking more in for whatever reason.

Yeah you can't trust those continentals can you, what with them living in universe where the maths works out like that.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.

I see City have just scored three late goals against Swansea in the FA cup quarter final.

Must be great if you can just buy a team with your billions and win everything.

Given results this weekend I wouldn't back against them for the domestic treble.
