According to Sky Sources they are close to administration, hardys company loaned 7 million to buy Notts and now in serious trouble so administrators looking at calling in those loans, another “ fit and proper” person the fa allowed to buy a club. Feel for the fans

A Club like Notts with so many Clubs around them will struggle to recover from Administration even with a relatively decent fanbase. I really hope they avoid this and get sorted it`s criminal what Charlatans are passed for fit and proper and with all the money in the game perhaps the FA should be held to account at some point?

10 point deduction would not be helpful in their survival battle right now . Their entry into the vanarama could also be in doubt given the non leagues board views on clubs with administration entering their league ?

Just shows how our opinions change with us being nicely placed mid table. If we'd been down the bottom like last season we would have been praying for them to go into admin.

I don't feel any sympathy for them. Years ago, County was owned by the supporters trust. When they were approached by big 'investors' promising lots of dosh if they handed over ownership, they couldn't wait to drop their knickers and bend over so they could have the likes of Sven as manager and players like Sol Campbell and that bloke who killed someone through reckless driving.

Lee Hughes is the scum bag who run someone over then run away leaving them to die and he should have been run over for that goal celebration he did, making out he was driving, what an utter tool. Also quite a few of their fans laughed at us and called us a scumbag club when we dropped into the abyss and for that I too say intercourse em.

Gotta feel for Mitch Rose, bless him, leaves us for a more secure future and it's looking like it could go turtle for him... On the plus side, Dennis could be available at a bargain bucket price now...👍⚽

If they do go into admin does that mean that Dennis's contract is annulled and is available for free?

Don’t think so, but the administrators will apply huge pressure to take a cut price deal rather than let the manager hold on to players. They just come in and sell anything that could have a buyer, fast and below market rates.

Well they weren't exactly banging the door down to take him on loan, so hopefully he'll like what he sees at GTFC and stays here... controversial at it may sound I personally think he offers you more of a consistent goal threat than any of the strikers currently on our books..

Nope. but you'll be able to get him for next to nothing. When we were on the brink of going out of business in 2012, we sold Liam Hatch and Jamie Chandler to Gateshead for about 10k. Normally we'd have warranted 100k for the pair of them. Administrators will sell for a nominal fee.

You actually sold Hatch to us, first. Then, a couple of hours after his signing was announced his missus decided she didn’t fancy it and the move was cancelled. All wasn’t lost of course, we went on to sign Rob Duffy instead. You just knew after he scored about 15 seconds into his debut what a goal machine he was going to be...

Aye I remember that, she was from Middlesbrough I believe. Last I knew of him, he was playing for Sunderland RCA in the Northern League after we released him in 2015.

He must have met her after moving to you. He played for Barnet's promotion winning side in 2004-05.

| In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions. Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them. GOD |

Don't know if it was around the same time but we signed Ian Miller from Darlo when they were in financial meltdown as well.

I think we 'signed' Hatch from Luton, but he went to Darlo instead. The Gateshead move was a year later.

You are in fact correct (well, almost). It was right at the end of 2010, just before we beat Mansfield 7-2 on New Year's Day (when Duffy scored for them and the rest, it seems, is history). It was actually Peterborough who we bought him off rather than Luton, but he was already on loan at Darlington at the time where he instead remained until the end of that season.

All these HMRC winding up order threats really urine me off. Nothing ever actually happens Someone always mysteriously finds the money from somewhere at the last minute and HMRC tell the court an acceptable offer has been made Cheapskate owners and directors hanging on until the last possible minute when they had the cash all the time. It's usually VAT and or NI contributions, they had the money but didn't want to hand it over What happened in the Bolton case last week BTW has anyone heard?

It's a terrible situation for their fans, but I don't have that much sympathy for them. They've effectively been financially doping and have spent a lot of money trying to go up, while other clubs have cut their cloth accordingly.
The fans sold out to investors ages ago and County have gone the route of washed up ex-Premier League players and Celebrity Managers.
If they escape their current predicament, all that will happen is Alan Hardy will use smoke and mirrors to wash the money round in some other way, and next season they'll carry on the big spending and try to take one of the promotion slots we'll be hopefully fighting for.
On that basis, I'd much rather someone like Yeovil or Morecambe stayed in the league as they pose less of a threat, and hope we can have a Grand Day Out at Meadow Lane at the end of the season to see them off to the Conference.

We as Town fans have been crying out for new investors in our Club and I’m sure would have welcomed someone like this guy with open arms. Just goes to show it doesn’t always work out as expected. John Fenty has not always got it right and whilst new investment is required, i do believe him when he says he has the clubs best interests at heart. I think the model of living within our means is the best course of action for the long term future of our fantastic club. UTM

He moaned about signing 38 players when it was him who approved them all, why approve all the signings adding to the debt? So if Notts go under all the local businesses suffer getting literally pence in the pound while the players get priority.

If there is a chance that they will be relegated that day it will be all ticket and could be a sell-out. Oldest club in the League etc alot of neutrals will turn up.

After spending 6 years down in the conference I will not get any joy from any league club going down there. Unless its Cheltenham

UTM
36 ticks and 1 Cross. Says it all about this post and I have to agree 100%. Best post I've seen in a long time.

2 massive games today.Yeovil v Morecambe and county v vale. Just realised with a beam of satisfaction that I hadn't looked at the bottom of the table in ages.what a lovely feeling not to be worried about what's going on down there. County looked doomed to me 5 points adrift and by far the worst goal difference

He moaned about signing 38 players when it was him who approved them all, why approve all the signings adding to the debt? So if Notts go under all the local businesses suffer getting literally pence in the pound while the players get priority.
You mean hooters could go t1ts up?

I think you are being more than generous here. John Fenty has got very little right in 18 years. If all we aspire to is just existing then what is the point? If you are the leading light at a pro club, one with a great history and some potential then you ought to be doing more with it than spending all the time in division 4 and 5, and even then just "existing". It is not even his money that is allowing us to "live within our means." He has not put significant investment into the club for years, unless someone can tell me differently. If he has, he has not used it very wisely. There has to be some new investment or we are very unlikely to progress on or off the field. We can all quote examples of investment that fails, but there are countless examples where investment has paid off.
