Hello fishy folks? After a long debate with my brother who decided he wasn’t up to much, I would like video proof or just messages to prove that Steve is a legend! R’ kid has him down as overrated...

Not overrated just had him down as a Barry Conlon type and don't seem to hear much about his footballing ability. Before my time sadly, first half decent striker i remember is mickey boulding.

Livvo and Conlon in the same breath??? Livvo miles better that that dipsomaniac. A beast of a striker.  We called him the centaur forward.

Batch, Crombie, Moore K, Wiggington, Cumming, Waters, Bonnyman, Ford, Emson, Drinkell, Whymark. Love you all, You are the reason I'm on here. You've had help from Todd, Handyside, Futcher P, Groves, Mendonca, Macca etc etc etc. Up The Mariners!!!!!!!!!

Sorry son, but he clearly was before your time if you considered him a Barry Conlon type.

Livvo is a legend as the OP suggests. Not the quickest or most prolific of forwards but an intelligent player, comfortable on the ball, who could hold up play and bring other players into the game. Our first Wembley win came about following his introduction as a sub. One of my favourite memories of him is him coming on at 2-0 down away at Ipswich and almost single-handedly changing things round resulting in us getting a very creditable 2-2 draw.

Also capable of mixing it with the beefiest of defenders and had a memorable 'incident' with Villa player Shaun Teale at BP which led to both players being sent off. This was surely the inspiration for Sergeant Whittle's elbow on Shearer.

Barry Conlon is not fit to tie Livvo's laces. (He'd probably be toopissed to do it anyway).

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Mixed it with the best of em at Championship level.....a great strike partner for Mendonca, Nogan, Lester.....

Statistics do tell a story but never the whole story.

And he turned round the league cup tie with Leicester in '98.  Matty Walsh?  couldn't cope with him

Steve Walsh. Ended up being smashed into the post by Jack Lester as Livvo caused such chaos Kasey Keller knocked out Julian Watts

Could also do a solid job at centre back, something that was fairly common then, but doesn't seem to happen these days.

This is one of my favourite memories of Livvo.

Can also remember how sick I felt after he was knocked out by Higginbotham, I knew it must be serious because they didn't move him for what seemed like for ever.

Livvo was a great player.

He was only a sub in this game but he turned it round when he came on.

Livvo was loved by the town fans he gave his all every time he pulled on a town shirt a real powerhouse striker and this was in the championship !!! One of his best goals for me was a diving header away at Notts county that’s the one that sticks in my mind, not heard much of what he’s doing of late or whether he’s still involved in football or not.
