Just under 1000 wimps travelled.
. The way they big their support up I would have thought that they would have taken a lot more than that.

The Bury fans left the match early to ambush the Lincoln fans and just started on anyone leaving the stadium. Fighting at the football with others that want to fight is for knuckle dragging morons. Starting on families and people just trying to get home is absolutely scummy af. Put your petty little rivalary aside for a minute as there is no place for that kind of behaviour in football.

Don't understand fighting after a 3-3 draw. Everyone should walk away happy and reasonably contented, Not that violence is ever justified but you can understand anger to some extent (e.g. Burton).

It was a great game as well. The commentators dutifully trotted out the cliches: "a great advert for League 2 football".

Any fans leaving early for this ambush would have missed the 86th minute equaliser too. Doesn't sound like Bury-like ,unless they've suddenly developed some Ultra's

From what I gather, the gates were opened, no stewards , No police. Families left first (Other fans that would probably have been okay, were further away). I was told there were 40/50 lads waiting, few punches thrown, couple of kids got separated from parents and were obviously distressed.

Allegedly GMP said it was the clubs responsibility - Stewards did nothing, I presume because it was outside the ground.

Poor , but it happened last year at Cambridge, when a 70 year old fella was knocked to the ground. This year when we went to Cambridge we took 2300 and it was as quiet as a church leaving.

We sold just under a 1000, but it was pay on the gate, so I think there were probably more. But I imagine late change to KO time, poor weather, just after Xmas, on TV were some of the reasons. We are taking 4,300 to County on Saturday, I hope we put another nail in their coffin. They have flirted with it , lets see how they cope in the hellhole of the NL.

Been to Bury 4/5 times, never overly noticed too much dogshit. It's not a great place though, makes Lincoln look like LA.

Regardless of our dislike for Lincoln, that is really scummy of the Bury idiots. I don't understand anyone wanting to fight someone because of the football team they support but if you're going to, then do it away from the ground with like-minded knuckle draggers and not near families with kids and regular, law-abiding supporters. Thankfully it doesn't seem like anyone was seriously hurt and I hope it doesn't put off any of the kids from watching their local team.

This is the problem for little clubs like Lincoln when they suddenly find themselves in 'big' games with higher attendances and dyed-in-the-wool knuckle dragging nutters posing as real, as opposed to plastic, supporters (like theirs) representing the opposition.

Something we Mariners have experienced for many years, if they find themselves in Div 1 or God forbid even higher Lincoln will learn that this sort of excrement happens

Yep, none of that is out of the norm.

However, it's been confirmed by Bury fans as well that a reasonably large group of Bury fans went round to the away exit to intercept the Lincoln fans as they left the stadium. That certainly isn't cool. There might not have been any injuries or arrests but it's clear that what did happen was a significant amount of intimidation. Nobody deserves that when you're just trying to exit the ground. It's got nothing to do with how long you've been attending games.

Apparently they left at about the 90 minute mark, so they didn't miss the equaliser. Would have missed an injury time winner had it happened though, which tells you all you need to know really.

Sounds strangely similar to when Lincoln dickheads had a go at families and scarfers on South Park a couple of years ago.

Sorry but I beg to differ there has been organised trouble between rival fan`s now for 50 year`s so it might be unpleasant it might be unwanted but it should not really be unexpected Lincoln taking 1k to Bury will have set the local yobs on red alert. Most fans if you have been goading home supporters for 90 mins and if you have attended football reguarly would have your wits about you when exiting the gound. Never heard of any trouble at Bury personally and visited twice with no problems but countless times following Town the Bury incident as occurred at other grounds. Wolves in the 90s was one which led to serious disorder gates to the away end left open some Wolves tried charging in as Town were coming out and all hell broke loose. No real Town hooligan element present but those present dispersed the Wolves fans easily enough and the local plod looked on gratefully whilst justice was served.

Well clearly it has.  But if you need confirmation why don't you go on their site and ask them.  It's not like you don't spend plenty of time on other sites than your own now is it ??

Well I can’t speak you or your new found fan base.
But if a bunch of our fans attacked a group of scarfers and families, there would certainly be comments about it on here.  !!

On our trip to Gigg lane(The Energy Check Stadium) earlier in the season I received a smash in the face,it wasn't from a spotty faced chav but a 33yr old. I did recognise him and know his name and had seen him at BP and away games quite a few times.I will release his name and anyone speaking to him please ask him to hit the bloody goal next time he's shooting in the warm-up. His name is Martyn Woolford, he doesn't half hit with some power,I had double vision for a few hours, I thought I'd witnessed 8 goals against us that day.

I’d be surprised if anyone managed to land a clean shot on the infamous 617 crew, footwork that would put Muhammad Ali to shame!

I see the game was not classed as important enough for any additional policing by the authorities, that's the difference between us and city, if we are taking 1000 plus the game is always classed as risky or above. When Lincoln have had a few more seasons of success and having a decent away support becomes the norm they will appreciate what we have experienced for many years.
