I found this interesting when I noticed it, maybe someone else will give a passing glance. Town seem to have a few players on the books who's dads played professionally.

And grandfather in the case of Buckley.

They'll not only have inherited ability, they'll also have a better idea of what being a professional footballer is all about, and have a better source of advice in the family than other lads. Should stand them in good stead. Maybe some of the signings are no coincidence.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Good sign, you’d think that the pros would only want their lads to go to clubs where they’ll be looked after.

Abdul's fact of the day: Joe Grayson's uncle (Paul Grayson) played a couple of ODI's for England.

Yes it is a good sign that the playing side for the younger players is looking good and brings on kids well. I think Woodsie does a great job there.

It was not always the case. Glenn and John Cockerill were not "allowed" to come to the club as juniors by their dad Ron who I think fell out with the club over a testimonial or something similar. Glenn was at Louth and ended up at Southampton, John went in the RAF and was playing for Skegness.
