..We'd sunk to defeat at home to Morecambe 2-0 (6th January). We hadn't won in 5 games prior to this, with 3 defeats and 2 draws.
We wouldn't win again until April 7th !! By then the Jolley effect had kicked in and we went unbeaten for the final 5 games, with 4 incredible wins in that bunch.

6th January 2019 and we have a display like THAT at a Premier club. That is progress, plus the fact that the current manager is bringing in promising players this January instead of putting them out of the door. And all in line with our non-chairman taking a break from his PR duties for about the same span of time.

Just thought this quiet Sunday morning would be a great time for a little reflection, to contrast your feelings for our team and club today as compared to Jan 6th 2018. It just feels good, and hopefully can only get better.

Progress...

But with regards to the opening post as Stanley Matthews said is his autobiography :

"Your only as good as your last game"

Just looking back to 29th September, we had lost at home to Morecambe, our sixth league defeat in a row, and the first of those games we had scored in and you can't really believe the transformation in such a short time.

Whatever happened between then and the midweek away game at Carlisle, who knows, but I'm glad it did! Several changes in personnel and we've been pretty good (Cambridge away being an exception) ever since.

Long may it continue! UTMM!

And then his editor corrected his misuse of 'your' before it was published!

During the game away to Northampton in late Nov last year we were actually bottom of the League.

By the end of Dec we were 15 points clear on the bottom. (Our goal difference is so superior to justify the 15th point).

The team is also producing heroic performances against the odds and with limited playing resources.   Credit to the players and Jolley.

The future looks a lot more promising than a few months ago.
