Has to be 3-5-2, surely. Interesting approach to start a game without a single recognised centre back and a little harsh on Woolford and Pollock not to make the starting line-up but if ever there was a time I’ve had confidence in our home form it’s now.

Hendrie to CB and Mitch to RB? Can’t see us playing a three at the back against Mansfield. Or possibly Cardwell playing CB, moving Mitch in to central an Embleton wide.... if your at the game see who’s warming up with lots of headers! 😆

Really good to see Vernam on the bench, would have been a shame to lose him long term.

If you're playing 3 CBs, one of them, in spite of inexperience, needs to be a CB by trade, surely. Especially considering how well he played for 45 minutes on Saturday. Let's hope it works and we can snatch a point or 3 from this. Gonna be tough.

4-3-3 according to OS. But when defending i reckon Pringle and Cardwell will drop back in for a 4-5-1. Looks like defence is M.Rose RB, Hall-Johnson and Fox as CB's and Hendrie LB.
Surprise for me is Vernam back and on the bench

It started a bit dogged, both teams created 1 decent chance each, now Mansfield scored from a diving header from a corner

Yeah when Pringle was on the ball. Hess should of done better there, Bishop should never of got that header in.

They look good going forward, they're not scared to commit plenty of men at a time.. We need to jsut be aware and try hit them on the break.

Think they look better going forward because we've got 3 wingbacks starting today and our positioning isn't great, thier wingbacks are causeing us issues and our wingers aren't great when helping out defencively, also we're just not getting the rub of the green every balls just seems to be landing at Mansfields feet instead of ours today at the moment.

I thought that Hamilton was tremendous for them in the away game. Really quick and positive runner. Was concerned about his impact today against a make shift defence.

Watching this it just shouts how much we need a winger in january for that right hand side.

Thought we were edging it up to goal.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Strange ref, should have been atleast 1 yellow card for their lad. I think they're better going forward just because they're committing more men to each attack. I like the fact we try to knock it on the floor when possible, really like Hess and Clifton

Thomas should have equalised but seemed to slip. They have looked the more dangerous with wingbacks in a lot of space. Still in this though and have played some decent football on a couple of occasions. Tondeur commented on there being zero atmosphere. Too many hangovers I imagine!

We're certainly not out of this game, we've had some half decent spells, but like I said earlier we're not having the rub of the green today and we look like a side with two RBs at CB. If we get a half decent ball into Thomas you can see we've got a chance of scoring.

Not playing too badly and generally playing good football but final ball lacking and we really have had no luck at all, the ref isn't great but we've had a hell of a lot worse quite often.

Like what Town are trying to do by getting the ball down and trying to pass themselves back into the game. Considering the differences in budget we’re doing ok.

Town are on the up. If it doesn't happen today or next Saturday - ready for that!

If it does - even better. Well done Town and Michael Jolley plus team.

All I can think about that yellow is that he's getting a yellow for kicking out in frustration?? Not at someone just in general, ie like the water bottle incident with Jose was it???

Think we can hold our heads very high after that. Mansfield are clearly one of the best teams in the league and we more than matched them without a recognised CB, a makeshift defence and mounting injury problems.

I have every faith in MJ adding depth and quality to the squad this month and I firmly believe we can push on towards the upper echelons of this league!

Deserved a point I reckon just for the sheer fact we tried to play ourselves back into the game.

TBH dont think e deserved to go away empty handed. The goal came against the run of play and they didnt look like runaway winners. their 12th man helped them immensly. I know we all say the referees are bad but even my 6 year old nearly swore at him for not catching that penalty shout

Didn't see it but can't be downhearted with that result given what's happened with our defence recently. Hopefully the squad will get a good rest before Saturday.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

To be honest I had a feeling we’d lose today , too many injuries to expect much against decent team

The range of passing from a full back is completely different to that of a centre back. I thought we lacked a bit of height across the team and we were very unlucky with the goal. Mansfield are a good side though and made it difficult for us to create any chances.
