A lot has been said of the players these last few weeks, and rightly so as they've put in some magnificent performances, displayed outstanding work ethic and really gelled as a squad.

But for me, specific praise has to go to Michael Jolley, Anthony Limbrick, Sam Russell and Greg Howard. What they've done in preparing the team, developing the players' confidence, tactical nous, and making subtle but effective changes here and there, making surprise but clearly we'll thought-out decisions (Woolford for Pringle yesterday for instance) not being afraid to give youth a chance, providing succinct direction... I could go on. These may all seem like standard attributes but ones we haven't seen at Grimsby for a long time. They've done all that whilst keeping the fans onside and playing some really attractive football at times. They've not destroyed their plans when we've been on a bad run but kept with their principles.

Macca for instance, has always been a very good keeper for us but seems to have stepped up a level this season under the guidance of Russell, MJ & AL seem to have earned the respect of the players and you can see they really are a close knit group.

They are absolute gems and won't be long before they start to attract the attention of other teams. I Fenty had any business sense whatsoever (🤔) then he'd get them tied down on long-term contracts ASAP!!
