I’m not sure the job is as attractive as it once was to be honest.
I know it’s still up there. But maybe a bit of a poisoned chalice??
Fergie saw the writing on the wall. He also saw the noisey neighbors getting noisier !!

A lot of their decline was DUE to Ferguson in my opinion. He allowed the squad to age together (Giggs, Evra, Vidic, Ferdinand, Berbatov, Scholes) and after not winning the title shortly before he left, he signed aging players like Van Persie to give him one more title before he buggered off into the sunset. He did get the absolute maximum out of that aging squad in his last season though.

Well Mourinho has gone from being " The Special One " to " The Doley One "!!. A few teams might miss out now from 3 easy points.

They'll go for Pochetino at seasons end I reckon. Zidane would be a huge, flash event but Man Utd need to convince their worldwide support how powerful they are, so steal away a respected manager from one of your rivals and show everyone that no one is bigger than ManYoo.

As a United supporter for as long as I have followed Town (Town always no 1) I have never understood the level of hate for them.  Sure they had a lot of success in recent  years but they had their fair share of barren years especially when Liverpool were all conquering indeed they suffered relegation in the 70,s yet the whole world seems to despise them without the same for City Liverpool Chelsea but after years if this I suppose I must just take it

No doubt Mourinho will blame their rubbish results v Crystal Palace and Wolves on Man City and Liverpool spending loads of money (which Man U didn't, of course).

Ferguson moved with the times, Mourinho keeps wheeling out the same act and it doesn't work anymore.

There’s plenty to choose from, ex-players like Hughes and Bruce, even Giggs and Keane. But they will want a statement manager. If they can’t get Zidane or Wenger or Ponch they might go to South America for someone we’ve never heard of. They might go for someone immediately available without hassle like Wenger. I suspect Wenger is finished in the PL now though, he’s done it all so why bother? Zidane is also free and I reckon he fancies it. Is he good enough at the big decisions though? He owed a lot at Madrid to his big gorilla mate on the pitch.

He was one of the best coaches in the world,

They were one of the best teams in the world,

BUT

He never looked happy in the job recently and turned into a grumpy git,

One of his interviews would only encourage the team he was playing ,

Because he did not encourage his own players.

When all the Man U (not exclusively them) fans at school are laughing at young kids for supporting their local team, when said person has never seen "their" team play except for on TV, it kind of puts you off them.
