Some nice input from our friend Scotimp:
“Apparently Grimsby fans are delighted with their draw. That may be due to a few teeny misunderstandings, though. Some are drooling at the prospect of a 26,000 full house at Selhurst Park, which will make them £200,000 in a share of the gate receipts. Others are just drooling, but that is more to do with upbringing than anything else.
Should we explain to them that the last third round FA Cup tie at Selhurst was watched by just 7,149 (v Bolton in January 2017)? Or that their fourth round tie against Manchester City a few weeks later only attracted 13,979? On that basis, the arrival of mighty Grimsby in town will really bring them out.
Some of them even believe that one of the worst teams in the Football League has a chance of getting a result there. They are right about that - an 8-0 thrashing is a result of a kind. Should be fun for them.”
Mere hours after winning one of the best draws of the round, he chose to write that. Not really sure what we’re supposed to say?

twit comes to mind, how ungrateful that imp fan is. Best just to ignore such people, I think it is fantastic to see League Two teams having a go at Premshet sides tbh. We all know Grimsby fans could out-sing Everton, Lincoln and Palace fans

That would be the same side that ran rings around THEM and they got outplayed most of the match only our poor finishing saved them lol what a wankor. About time these jumped up plastics were brought back down to earth the real half of the season starts now and I honestly think they will bottle it they are not that good.

The Palace view. They seem reasonable, mostly.

They're saying that at £5 a ticket and kids for a quid wouldn't even sell out. So much for a money spinning draw

Well at the very worst, it’s gonna be better than any draw we got at home in terms of attendance. Even pulling Man Utd we still would’ve only had 8k if it sold out, so that’s positive.
If I were SLO or someone at the club, I’d be ringing around and booking coaches up this morning. It’s a ball ache to get to and if you’re looking £70, £80, £90 on the train straight after Christmas, it might put a fair few people off.
Book some coaches, £25-30 a head, sell tickets on eventbrite or at the ticket office and you’ll fill almost 10 no trouble.
It’s not difficult.

"Where were you when you where sh1t" is usually a question that about 7,000 of the season ticket holders can't answer.
