Town starting XI: McKeown, Hendrie, Davis, Collins (c), Fox, Embleton, Clifton, Hessenthaler, Pringle, Vernam, Thomas.

Subs: Welsh, Cook, M. Rose, Cardwell, Whitmore, Buckley, Russell. #GTFC

Would of liked to of seen Whitmore stay in ahead of Collins who I think has been prone to make mistakes last few games his played.

Oh well

Why Collins!  Too slow, too old and behind every game unless its hoofed right up onto his head and I was a big Colkins fan coming into the season

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

JJ hooper is well out of favour now isn’t he, dropped like a sack of spuds, even young Buckley makes the beach before him, can see him defiantly departing in January.

To who? Do you really think we'd be able to sell him or send him on loan? Probably released when he's out of contract then fall down into non league as wasted potential.

Presumably Collins brought back to deal with threat of Denton who's a big old lump but deadly slow, so hopefully Collins should be able to handle him. 2 ex town targets are at Chesterfield I see I.e. Fortune and kiwomya

Very slow start.
Town fans very quiet.

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Chesterfield better team in that half,  but we have an important lead, feel like Wes isn’t in the game at all but to his defence nothing is at his feet hard to get a touch in, where defending immensely though.

Ours to loose now

Weathered a bit of an onslaught in the first half as you’d expect but going in at 1 - 0 is all that matters

Some shocking stewarding nearly resulted in an accident though when we scored 😕

We've been the 2nd best team for most of this game.  But it doesn't matter we're in the lead. Maccas made a couple of good saves and we scrambled the ball over for the goal. Once again we are sat too deep but we know whos fault that is which is letting them take their time to pick out their passes. Wouldn't mind if we picked up their two left sided players Binnom and Kiwomya in January though.

Collins has done a great job on Denton. They've had a lot of the ball but not threatened with it much apart from one scramble. We're trying to play football but if people expect us to knock it about like Man City they're going to be disappointed.

Watching on bet365 from the north sea
Yeh we weathered a storm for 30 minutes but we looked fairly comfortable at the back still, eventually managed to start hitting them on the break and got the goal we needed. Hopefully keep on the same way we finished, keep possesion a bit more and we’ll do well

Signing players from a team in the relegation zone from the league below seems like a fool proof plan..

The commentators saying Collins probably MOTM for us.

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

Really enjoyed watching that, dead pleased for clifton, grew into the half just like we did the first. Collins, fox and pringle the standout performers for me. Cant wait for the draw tomorow!

Uncomfortable for 20 minutes but, in truth, we looked a class above them - and it's been too long since we've been able to say that.

Well done to all, especially the fans, great turnout UTMM

Might be able to afford some bog roll for the toilets now.

Tricky game negotiated, money made, and the chance of a plum draw. Good day all round.

Is it a "run" yet?

Watched first half on bet365. Wee bit peed off at having at to pay for the privilege, but decided to put the £10 on at 7/4 and now happy as Larry.

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

Another quick word on Clifton. How this lad has matured. Sure, should have passed it but what a confident break to make and just so intent on getting to their box, rounding off another energetic and determined display.

This time last year he wasn't even on slapheads radar, great stuff

If you’re referrirng to collins he’s been out best player ffs. And sexondly no thanks they are shite

Collins did do well against Denton yes, because the ball was only hoofed at him and all he had to do was mark an imobile Target man who put in as puch effort as Vose used to. But he's still the reason we're sat so deep the whole game inviting pressure onto ourselves. He didn't do any better then Davis or Whitmoore would of done.

You can’t possibly know that, so why say it? And it’s “would’ve done” not “would of”.

Davis marked him a number of times early on and did perfectly fine...

JJ hooper is well out of favour now isn’t he, dropped like a sack of spuds, even young Buckley makes the beach before him, can see him defiantly departing in January.

Has Hooper done something wrong to upset somebody-can't quite believe that he can't even make the bench. He seemed to be the flavour of the month just a short time ago.
