Sol Campbell looks all set to take over at Macclesfield. Massive gamble for them.

Out of curiosity I looked at the odds for relegation.

Macc are 1/4 on and we are second favourites at 11/4.

This is slightly concerning. When I've seen us play (even when we've lost) I don't think we look like a relegation side. However, Fenty needs to dip into his pockets and get a few decent players in the window an ensure Embleton is here for the rest of the campaign.

Pretty basic when you look at the recent form. Of clubs around the bottom third of the table, Macclesfield have the worst record over the past 5 or 6 games and we're next in line.

You'd have to say that it's a big gamble for Macclesfield, but Campbell might just be able to wangle a few good loanees from big clubs just because of his name. Could be enough to save them. If not, it will no doubt be somebody else's fault because he apparently has one of the greatest football minds in the business. He told us so himself, so it must be true.

No more of a gamble than us appointing Jolley

Both totally inexperienced as managers

I don't know about qualifications (I don't know about coaching certs etc) Jolley might have the edge there but Campbell has more experience of the game and at a high level

To be fair though. That’s pretty much your default setting anyway 😉

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

That is true but when has it ever really been an advantage? Great players rarely make great managers. In fact, if you look at many of the best managers they the drive to become coaches because their football careers had been underwhelming, either because injury (Clough, for instance) or that they simply weren't that outstanding as players.
