Happy with the lineup though feel sorry for Mitch Rose having to start on the bench again.
Lets get something from this game to start a run

No keeper on the bench.

No complaints about the line-up from me. Round pegs in round holes. Surprised Mitch Rose isn't in midfield though, thought he'd been doing well. Hopefully we won't miss his physical strength and composure in the middle.

Goal comes again from Collins not being able to move any more and having to be in a perminant French Army maneuver

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

It's just too good to be true.....

'I walked in the dressing room. The window was open and I thought that a sea fret had got in. Then I saw smoke billowing from a pipe in the corner of the room...it was my centre-forward. We've dropped our "targetman" Cardwell this game so we're hoofing the ball up to Thomas and Vernam today, our midfield is once again defending 6 inchs off of Collins toes and giving Northampton the pitch to do what evver they want on

Welcome well-taken goal by Vernam and amazing save by Macca..

We can't keep defending on the back foot and if Collins lets Van Veen take the ball down and turn and face him as he backs off second half like he did all first half, I'm gonna put my laptop screen through..

Too many players playing with a lack in confidence, yet we're still in it..

Rather frustrating that we had a free kick in a similar position earlier in the half and scuffed it along the floor into the defence, whereas theirs goes flying over our wall (looked like they didn't even jump) and nestles in the far corner.

Collins straight red! Once again his lack of pace has let us down!

Well fingers crossed first we hold on here, and second that one of our other centrebacks performs well in his absence

Not a bad result that. Still got a 4 point gap.

I think most of us would have taken a point before the game...... even better after the poor start by us.

Considering everything it's a good result. Would have been easy to roll over and die after going behind twice but we clawed one back each time and held out with 10 men. Collins got run ragged all afternoon and his frustration showed. Macca kept us in it again several times.

Great result all things considered. Collins having a rest might do him (and the team) a bit of good.

Well earned point, coming from behind twice is great given how the season has gone so far and we could of knicked it in the 2nd as well.

Northampton score most games, so i always thought we'd need a couple of goals to get a draw, or a more unlikely win. Didn't think we would get those two goals though, and i must admit i expected a loss there today, so i'm buzzing for this result. Forwards are now starting to score goals, which is what we have been lacking so far this season. Think we are now bedding in, and i think we will start to creep up the table, he says hopefully.

Pretty sure I saw the ref wave a card at Pringle after the final whistle, looked like it was red, but earlier Kettle booked someone and the yellow looked a very dark orange in the floodlights. Collins manages to bring down the last man when he had a 3 yard lead on him and took an airshot as he went past. Really good point might have got 3 great comeback, Rose looks the man to bring on with 15 to go, he is going to terrorise tired defences.

Great result really.. we were pretty poor for most of the first half only really switching it on in the last 10 minutes or so. Second half we looked so much more determined and played some good football.

Have to say the result was made even sweeter due to their moronic fans giving us abuse every time they went ahead and then looking a bit silly again whenever we equalised again. If Rose had put away the header near the end I think our fans would have been on the pitch, such was the pent up frustration.

Anyway. Good result. UTM.

Yes he booked Pringle but I thought it was a yellow.

The two that finished today 👍

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

He will only miss the Tranmere game unless we appeal ,

If we appeal and lose he will miss both games.

Any ban is only increased if the appeal is considered frivolous, it is not an automatic increase if the appeal is turned down

Surely Whitmore will come into the side for Collins. Was on the bench today, so he must be ready to step back in. Think Hendrie can play there too if we have someone else to fill in at right back?

Think they said on the commentary a Town fan was ejected from the ground and they should have had a penalty ?

If Collins is out on Tuesday who’ll be the captain? I couldn’t see who took the armband when he got sent off.

Getting a penalty for having a fan ejected seems a bit harsh!

Collins was proper angry after getting sent off and he just chucked the armband at Macca - I think also it was Pringle who was having a few words with the lino at the time and also at the end he came back on to the pitch to give the ref some more words and he obviously upset Kettle because he got himself a Yellow card!

I missed all that on the day but watched the game back yesterday - a thoroughly enjoyable second half , , , not so enjoyable first half, , , apart from the goal from Vernam oh and THAT save
ABSOBLUTELY brilliant in the words of JT
