Just interested. When was the last time we had 3 starting players with the same name. Yesterday was Harry Clifton, Harry Davis and Harry Cardwell.
The last time I remember is from years ago with Kevin Moore, Kevin Kilmore and Kevin Drinkell.

This would have been an awesome reply...

...if only you'd have put 1989.

Didn't realise they were all in the starting lineup. Was a great time back then.

Off the top of my head, the early 90’s squad contained Paul Crichton, Paul Agnew, Paul Futcher and Paul Groves. I would imagine at least 3, possibly all 4 started a match at some point.

I'm guessing around 2003 there may have been times when Paul Raven, Groves and Robinson were in the same eleven. Although Raven missed a lot of time through injury so maybe not

These are the most common names of recent years. The funny thing is all the Harrys started around the same time with the only other one being Harry Pell.

Alan
Andy
Ben
Chris
Danny
David
Gary
James
Josh
Luke
Mark
Michael
Paul
Peter
Richard
Sam
Scott
Tom

Anyone know whether he have ever fielded a team containing a Matthew, Mark, Luke and John?

Aggy, Futch and Rhys must have been in the same squad at least.

A hybrid keeper?

The ability of Paul Reece and the height of Rhys Wilmot?

Agh! Silly me.

Better than the height of Paul Reece and the ability of Rhys Wilmot. 😄

Too many players called Reece/Rhys/Rees in that era.

I remember more than 3. According to the song listing them we had:

Harry Wainman
Harry Wainman
Harry Wainman
Harry Harry

The illegitimate love child of a one night threesome after a drunken bags ball , Paul Rhys , a tussle haired, olive skinned spring heeled keeper with a Welsh accent ...... even if you combined the best of both of their abilities i think you would still just end up with Paul Reece, really cant remember any great qualities that Rhys Wilmot had in his locker.
Actually forgot he had been brought through Arsenal's ranks in his earlier days...but 9 appearances for them in 12 yrs says something i suppose.

Didn't we make a profit by somehow selling Wilmot to a top division club? That was a great quality.

Or perhaps I'm just imagining that we sold him for more than he cost us?

Think we sold him to a Palace for 100k, which was the price we had paid for him.

Didn’t he take kicks off the floor with one foot, and kicks out of his hands with his other foot?

Yeah, we sold him to Palace for about the same amount we paid Plymouth(?) for him after he played a blinder for us at Selhurst Park  . Must have been the one good game the Flying Leek* had for us.

Bit that tickled me was when said the changing rooms and the bath haven't changed since 1962....kind of defines the state the clubs in really ...talk about no inward investment for a few decades!!!

Talking about Harry Wainman, I'm a bit puzzled.

Did he have a son, also called Harry, who was a goalie too,

The reason I ask is that I just happened to come across a programme from a Town pre-season friendly against Sunderland in 1980, 3 years after Harry retired.

On the back of the programme in the team lineups at the end of the Town team it lists Harry Wainman. It's back when they used to include a line or two under each players name and underneath his name it says "The senior professional is determined to stake a claim for the green jersey"

Any ideas. Did he come out of retirement for 1 pre-season friendly or did he have a son who didn't make the grade. (I can't remember if he did or not)
