Quoted from arryarryarry
25 minutes gone and the general consensus around where I am sat is this is two very poor sides.

We have a good enough goalie and steady enough defence but by God we are clueless in midfield and attack. Do we practice lack of movement or What, statuesque. Cringing lack of pace means we never capitalise on unexpected turnover in possesion

Not very good game not helped by a Dog of a Ref 👊👊👊

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Looked like a penalty to me but apart from that very poor from Town.

Square pegs again!!! Jolley once again over complicating it with Clifton playing a holding role with Rose M on the bench? Verman on the right then the predictable switch of wings with Pringle after half an hour.

I know he’s still young but last season I saw nothing to suggest that Cardwell was good enough for this level and today hasn’t changed my view. How he starts ahead of Cooke I’ll never know.

The ref is clearly playing to the camera as he stopped the game and awarded free kicks to the team in possession (Crawley) on a number of occasions.

Outnumbered in centre midfield.

No composure on the ball and no movement off it.

And I'm sick and tired of opposition knocking the ball around thirty yards from our goal under no pressure whatsover because our defence have dropped back to the six yard box. It gives our two against three in midfield no chance whatsoever. If we play that way because Collins is in the side, let's get either Famewo or Whitmore in because they're no woirse at tackling, heading and passing, better at marking a man tight, quicker and won't play so deep so our lack of numbers in centre mid don't get exposed. If Collins plays we'll have to play a three in centre mid to close down space, but then again it would compromise everywhere else on the pitch.

Vernam the only one looking likely to do something and show some composure.

Disjointed mess against a poor side. Not lucky to be 0-0 but zero football on offer as entertainment..

It's taken the Crawley number 6 having a tantrum to get the crowd going. 😂

When Leeds trainer Les Cocker was once told Norman Hunter had broken a leg, he asked: “Whose is it?”

This team are awful. Jolley needed time in the lower leagues. League two, Grimsby Town, no. I’m sure he will make a good manger in a few years. Time for a change.

Only two pages on the match thread just shows how boring this game has been.

I don't mind Roy Keane making £60,000 a week. I was making the same when I was playing. The only difference was I was printing my own - Mickey Thomas

The area you are trying to protect at corners is the goal - Chris Kamara

I once said Gazza's IQ was less than his shirt number and he asked me: What's an IQ? - George Best
