It really is about flipping time. We need something , , us fans deserve something , , our loyal hardcore home fans deserve something , the away fans that turn up all over the land deserve something  , let’s have us a home tie in Round 2 and who knows what can happen next. Jolley get this lot wanting sucess and you and them can be legends.

I would love Lincoln at home 👍🏻🤪🤪

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

I’d love Man U too but we have to get through to the 3rd round for that to happen. 2nd round id like the gimps or Scunts at home. We can beat either on yesterday’s second half showing.

We get 54 grand if we make it through R2, plus a share of the gate receipts. Nearly every ball in the bag would be a fairly low-key game so we'll make more from the prize money until we draw a Prem side away.We got 36 grand yesterday.

Billericay home or away

Home so we can beat them and get to R3
Away so we can beat them and get to R3 and I can see it.

Followed by Ipswich Town in R3 home or away for the same reason

Then Man U in R4

Not bothered who we get in R5

In my lifetime I have seen Town play every league club except for Man Utd. It's over 70 years since we played them in any competition.

The Daily Telegraph published a table of Man U. results against other teams. Town have played them 20 odd games and we have the best record against them of any other team. Mind you we played them at the worst time in their history which helps!

We played them in back to back games in the league and put ten goals past them. We won the old second div while they finished one place above relegation the third div.

The plan: draw Maidstone, Stockport or Woking at home. Ie a very winnable game

Then get Manchester United away as my dad says that’s the only side in the 92 he’s not seen us play and I’d fancy a trip to Old Trafford.

What's the tv money like? The lowest ranked club away would have a chance of being shown.

Adi Yussuf scores from the spot to give Solihull Moors the lead at Hitchin, Solihull now 2 up.

Wrexham also now 2 up.

Does this mean we are Manchester United’s bogey team?

Anyone wanting Lincoln or Scunny in round two would have failed the test they do on kids when they’d leave a sweet on a table for two minutes and if they manage to leave it then they could have the full bag.

Impatience. Staying in the cup by drawing dross at home and beating them is better long term than getting Lincoln or Scunny who are likely to beat us and send us out.

We have to be careful how far we are going to progress in the cup, might create a backlog of league fixtures, so lose at home to some non league team in round 2.

You would expect Lincoln or Scunthorpe to be a full house which would be better than going out to Accrington or Newport away in front of 2000 people. There would also be a higher chance of it being televised which is more money in the bank.

I thought MK Dons was one of the worst teams we could draw to be honest and look how that turned out.

Personally I want a plum third round draw away at one of the big teams but there are no "easy" games in round 2. Guiseley put 4 past a Cambridge team we struggled to get a shot on target against.

One of the lowest teams in the competition however would give us a chance of TV coverage. If Salford or Billericay get through their replays I expect them to be chosen for TV.

Oh, and choo choo plane watching, lots of choo choo plane watching.

If you manage to draw these scumbags, be wary of the heavy police presence that will follow.

They'll cart you all into 1 small pub and keep you there till 2.45pm. Not forgetting the Stockport fans who think they are the best team in the land because they get high crowds

If you manage to draw these scumbags, be wary of the heavy police presence that will follow.

They'll cart you all into 1 small pub and keep you there till 2.45pm. Not forgetting the Stockport fans who think they are the best team in the land because they get high crowds

Yeah, well you'd have to have smoked something pretty strong to think that...

Prepare for disappointment. Of the 39 other balls (thanks Les), how many are really exciting ties? 3? Another 3 or 4 would bring us into televised territory. But the vast majority are nothing special.

If not Lincoln at home then Scunthorpe will do 👍

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

Sounds unlikely but it's a fact----Man.Utd. have beaten us 14 times  but we have beaten them 15 times.

Scunthorpe away please!

But it won't be, it'll be Plymouth at home with an utterly boring 0-0 draw in front of 1,354 fans only to get battered away on a Tuesday night in the replay.

You just know Bignot is going to get the home draw he wants against a league side and it will be us.

Would be an outsider for TV if Billericay get through but I think they announce the televised ones before the replays usually. More suited to a 1245 Sunday for policing and television reasons. It’s the sort of boring draw we needed though and very winnable.

Let's get on and win it
Bet MJ will be delighted.

Looking at the betting odds, we are 1500-1 to win the cup and 2000-1 to win the League 2 pennant.
Crazy as we only need to win 8 games to win the F A Cup.......

Billericay not as easy as it sounds on paper. They’re another club owned by a maverick, multi-millionaire sugar daddy and currently sit top of the Conference South with possibly the largest wage bill outside the football league.

They’re paying the likes of Jamie O Hara a small fortune to be there.

Billericay top of National South with a good record (goals and good defence) averaging more than 2 points a game.  Have clearly had a good cup run as well.  If they win the replay at home, then it will difficult tie for us.  But we should still win, even if it takes a replay.

Chesterfield away is easy to get and they are struggling badly this season, 1 point above the bottom 4.

Billericay home or away

Home so we can beat them and get to R3
Away so we can beat them and get to R3 and I can see it.

Followed by Ipswich Town in R3 home or away for the same reason

Then Man U in R4

Not bothered who we get in R5

Yes! Just need Billericay to beat Chesterfield and the first leg of my prediction is up.

billericay fc the ground had a capacity of 3,500, of which 424 was seated and 2,000 was covered.

Chesterfield Fc capacity 10,400
Away supporters are normally housed in the Rubicon Print Stand at the north end of the stadium, where up to 2,112 supporters can be seated. If demand requires it then additional seating can also be made available in the Spencers Solicitors Community Stand.

I used to regularly get in a ruck with their boys. Nasty bunch. Fellah in their bar once spilled my pint and it took him 3 seconds to say sorry. Another one tutted when he saw me standing in his regular spot by a barrier on the side stand.

Gutted not to be down there. Too lackadaisical about getting a ticket, ‘but it’s alright it’s on the telly’
Doh! It’s not on the Beeb and I’ve never paid for tv in my life.

Sounds like they’ve been lucky with decisions and Oldham wastefulness.

I'd have settled for the draw we got. A non-league side stands between us and R3. Billericay have splashed the cash this season and in a way would be a trickier tie than the more familiar opposition.

Chesterfield fans don't seem too worried about us.

Quoted Text
Grimsby are an absolute dog's droppings of a side, and if we beat the Essex wide boys in the replay, I don't have any worries about playing this side.

Firmly believe that if Lester hadn't have gone to Blundell Park to play for a draw, that it would be the cod heads in this division and not us

Indeed. I think we’d have a good chance of being on TV if it is Billericay as there’s evidently a bit of a story about them and it probably looks, on paper, like a game with a reasonable chance of an upset given their league form.

If it’s Billericay and it gets moved to a different day because of TV I’d be gutted as I wouldn’t be able to go .

Today we got our team back - town fan leaving Wembley may 2016

Indeed. I think we’d have a good chance of being on TV if it is Billericay as there’s evidently a bit of a story about them and it probably looks, on paper, like a game with a reasonable chance of an upset given their league form.

I wonder if.we might just miss out. Will be 4.live games I think and maybe the following just pipping us:

Guiseley vs Fleetwood
Wrexham vs Newport
Solihull vs Blackpool
Rochdale vs Portsmouth or Walsall vs Sunderland

Not much else of any appeal so guess we must have a chance. Chesterfield vs GTFC wouldn't be the easiest sell for them though!

I fully expect the BBC will nab the game for a sunday lunchtime regardless of whoever we have to visit. Theyll take the usual 8 matches for their final score programme BUT but theres more than a chance it could be on if BT and BBC take 4 games live but only if we go to Essex

Wrexham vs Newport might be taken on by BBC Wales seperately as they have done with Cardiff (and Swansea?) cup games in recent seasons.

I'm not worried about Chesterfield, they are dog and duck tin pot and will be easy meat. It'll be the biggest game of their lives when we play them, they may even make a commemorative plate or something like that.

Doubly gutted cos there were 700 spare tickets after all.

Not as gutted as H&R...conceded two late goals and didn't even get a money-spinning replay.

Plucky non leaguers lose out yet again to a team that plays in the big boys league, the spireites tiny hopes crushed and they cry their eyes out and go an lose the next game to the dog and duck 2nd team at pond lane, boo hoo Chesterfield

Yeah, it was that game that sent them down.

Nothing to do with the fact they picked up 4 points from 9 games after beating Notts County at the end of March.

Yeah.. I'd rate it as a 50/50 game. A better chance than drawing any League team away from home or League One club at home, but still a 50/50 chance of us going through. Anyone remember our last three away games?

50/50 of winning the away game, but 25/75 of losing it in the first leg. 75/25 of us winning the replay. So overall around 68%, or around 2/1 in our favour!

Far too much confidence on here from fans of a misfiring team who've just lost 3 away games on the bounce.
presently on oddschecker for best odds on billericay / chesterfield win

hope it's billericay - great line we could repeat from last night's 'people just do nothing'

If it is Billericay then there have several players we will know from the Conference like Julien in goal and Emmanuel up front from Bromley and then Cunnington from Cambridge. Most of the really big names have gone but O'Hara is still there on at least £10K a week.

They've done a lot to their ground too so they could cope with a good away following without any problem.

A bit surprised at that to be honest, the 6 games they have moved are...

Bury v Luton Town
Tranmere Rovers or Oxford City v Southport
Shrewsbury Town or Salford City v Scunthorpe United
Swindon Town v Woking
Rochdale v Portsmouth
Sutton United or Slough Town v Gillingham or Hartlepool United.

We’re on it if we play Chesterfield, KO date and time TBA for Billericay. Possibly another TV fixture?

If it’s Bill n Ricky then I assumed that would be a nailed on TV game looking at the fixtures.

BBC seem to love jumped up, cringey, non league vanity projects like Salford, FCUM, FGR and Billericay and to see them go up against a massive ex semi finalist like us is dynamite.
