Great goal
Great times
Great bloke 👍🏻

In his three stints as Grimsby Town manager spanning over 10 years the club was never relegated and he also guided them to three promotions.
Only 14 managers have reached 1,000 matches in charge of a Football League team by 1998 and Buckley is one of them.

And all that with a goalkeeper who was used to treating the ball as a hot potato!

I used to carry the newspaper headline in my wallet. Which was something like. Buckley told me to keep it in the corner, I thought he meant the top corner. Great times in our history

Maybe we should relive that moment of greatness by releasing a memorial plate of the game,

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Jesus’ disciple Peter, picked up a fish to get the tribute money from it, Jesus left his thumb print on the fish, bless'ed is the Haddock.

I remember where I was the day Dobbin scored at St James' Park. And it wasn't SJP.  Completely mundane place and activity but I remember it because of that goal.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

A great day to be a Town fan ,well at least til the final whistle went and the Geordie hordes pelted us with anything they could lay their hands on. One highlight of the day just before kick off in Baltic conditions a Town fan walked in wearing a balaclava and the whole end went up into a spontaneous beast of cleethorpes chant (some will recall ) . The Geordies were giving Beasant a hard time prior to kick off and he was arguably MOTM giving a faultless display of goalkeeping with a cool as fcuk Futcher and a game Gary Croft also excelling at the back for Town. Then that goal what a screamer and what timing 26 year`s ago Seems like yesterday.UTM

It also denied Newcastle the chance to make English football history by winning the first twelve league games of any season. All the UK media were there to mark the historic occasion, only somebody forgot to tell the Town to comply! It was shown on the BBC news that night.

No attempt at ethical or social seduction can eradicate from my heart a deep burning hatred of the Tory party. So far as I'm concerned they're lower than vermin. Aneurin Bevan.

Town 'bunging up the works' as we used to do. Whenever anyone was relegated from the top division it was all "They've gone from playing the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool to playing Grimsby on a cold and wet midweek evening".
