It'll soon be that time of year again.

The final qualifying round is on Saturday and the draw for the 1st Round is Live on BBC2 at 7pm on Monday night.

Unfortunately, Cleethorpes lost their replay at Guiseley but who out of this lot do we fancy, if we were to draw a qualifyer. If Marine could defy the odds and overcome Salford we could have the first ever Mariners v Mariners tie. Having said that we'll probably draw Plymouth away again.

AFC Fylde v Chesterfield
Aldershot Town v Kettering Town
Alfreton Town v St Neots Town
Barnet v Braintree Town
Billericay Town v Taunton Town
Blyth Spartans v York City
Boreham Wood v Dagenham & Redbridge
Chippenham Town v Maidenhead United
Chorley v Barrow
Concord Rangers v Dover Athletic
Dunston UTS  v Gateshead
Eastbourne Borough v Slough Town
Eastleigh v Hampton & Richmond
Ebbsfleet United v Worthing
Gloucester City v Bromley
Guiseley v Stourbridge
Haringey Borough v Poole Town
Harrogate Town v Wrexham
Hartlepool United v Kidsgrove Athletic
Hemel Hempstead Town v Oxford City
Hitchin Town v Leatherhead
Maidstone United v Leyton Orient
Marine v Salford City
Metropolitan Police v Havant & Waterlooville
Southport v Ashton United
Stockport County v Altrincham
Torquay United v Winchester City
Warrington Town v FC Halifax Town
Wealdstone v Sutton United
Weston-super-Mare v Bath City
Witton Albion v Solihull Moors
Woking v Welling United

There are 32 non-league clubs in the hat and 48 league clubs so there is a 40% chance of drawing one of the names above.

Reffed there last season, took me ages to work out what the lovely warm smell was. It’s right next to the Weetabix Factory.

How about the Metropolitan Police away? Maybe an issue with kick off time !!!

However,  home fans should be well behaved although a number could be on horseback or accompanied by a German Shepherd 😄

The Met Police have a nice ground with good facilities - doubt they would let us in the clubhouse though. It's more like a golf club than the typical non-League clubhouse. If we get them you could drop the other half off at Hampton Court Palace or Bushy Park while you go to the game

Hampton & Richmond would be another nice little ground to visit. Not sure the bar could cope with our numbers, but they do a decent pint. And ditto the comment about Hampton Court/Bushy Park. For the more energetic non-football watching family members there's the joys of Hampton Open Air Pool.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

Chesterfield away for me please.  Definitely winnable and a good crowd should earn a few Bob. Would probably go Fri night. It’s a good night out, but fear the Sat night might not be too welcoming.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

Travelled to play my first game for a new club there with another team mate. Can be a nightmare to get to on a Saturday. Took over four and a half hours from GY and we missed the deadline for signing on by five minutes, so twelve hours wasted, no time on the pitch, and the chairman wouldn't even pay us petrol money because we were late. Nice little picturesque ground though back in the day..

Great post Les
Love early FA cup rounds
Gateshead or Hartlepool Home to thrash them
Or Salford / Harrogate or Dunston might get us on the telly
Law of averages says we must win a cup tie soon
St Neots away local for me

Still disgusted Stags game was cancelled and then they played a full game
Could we be rusty Sat?

That would be nice. To win a cup game (chuckatirade doesn't count). A cup run can galvanise the place much better than a league run. 3 cup wins gets the pulses racing. You'd need 3 times that in a row in the league to get the equivalent effect.

Billericay or Braintree away please

Rather it wasn't Braintree. 5 seasons of that place was enough. Besides if we get Billericay I can get to use my highly topical Harvey Proctor joke.

Winnable game at home please, then the same in round 2 and then get drawn at Anfield in the 3rd!

Anfield? Nah. Been there, won there. Somewhere different would be better. For example, it would be nice to have the opportunity to play at Old Trafford to see if the Grim Reaper could dust off his scythe and do for Mourinho!

Scalping Mourinho would be the ultimate Grim Reaper. Think it’s unlikely we’d take any of the other top 6 managers this season should we draw and subsequently beat them.

If we do draw a big team at home, watch for the scramble for tickets. 8 thousand fans claiming they all go to every home game, and that its not fair that season ticket holders get first choice.

We’ve 2 rounds to get through first, and given we’ve won 3 times all season and had 1 cup win since being back in the league (in the checkatrade) I wouldn’t worry about getting a ticket just yet.

I think I’ll wait for the draw before joining the trust just yet 🤔

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'

If we get Met Police at home Fenty will be worried he might have to pay them, as they are in the ground. Also I bet their traveling supporters are fed up of being filmed, having to use dry trains and being frisked prior to entering the grounds.Met Police Ultras have a terrible reputation!!!

Would love a nice derby but let’s be honest, we’ll probably end up with something awful like Southend away which we lose after a replay meaning the whole thing was pointless and just served to knacker the players!

Would love to reach the 3rd round though.

36 grand in prize money if we win. The prize money has doubled this year, it was only 18 grand last year. Every round is double the prize money I believe.

Great report by Gregor Robertson on the Dunston - Gateshead game in The Times this morning in the “Proper FA Cup” as he calls it in his by-line. More spectators (2500) than some of the L2 games on Saturday.

Looking at our fixtures as it stands we could do with a home or lucrative away draw as we’ll be going 3 weeks without a home game as it stands. Not ideal for financial reasons.  Obviously this doesn’t matter too much if we win in the cup but we’re not exactly brilliant at cup ties are we?

We seem to make a habit of picking up unattractive yet difficult draws. It seems like absolutely years since we had a decent tie in the FA Cup - I'm not counting Scunny as that's not really the definition of a 'plum' draw, and neither really was Huddersfield as good a game and atmosphere as it was.

I had to look it up but the last time we faced a top flight side was twenty years ago - Leeds away in '98. Of course, our largely dismal track reckord in the early rounds has got a big role to play in that as we've evidently not been in the third round all too often (though were were in it automatically between' '99 and '03 and still mustered up naff all).

It's the first time for 6 years that we have faced a team at our own level or below (apart from the qualifying round). Last one was Salisbury by my reckoning 6 years ago.

It's the first time for 6 years that we have faced a team at our own level or below (apart from the qualifying round). Last one was Salisbury by my reckoning 6 years ago.

Switched on Five Live at 7 as I was in the car and it was all Arsenal, bantz with Wrighty, to be followed by more on the Mourinho soap opera and the Chumps League. BBC disrespecting the oldest football competition as usual. C-units!

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.

They did show some qualifiers on the purple button though (right at the lights, just after the rhythmic gymnastics from Baku)

Salisbury were in a lower league.  We had a replay at home, took the lead in ET - and then lost!

Give me a team in the same division any day.

I’m still thawing out from that Salisbury game! Bloody Rob Duffy kept me freezing for another half hour!

Coldest I've ever been at a game was away at Halifax in an FA Cup Replay in the late '80's. The pitch literally went white in front of your eyes as the game went on. Still amazed that it actually finished. We lost 2-0 as well.

Wrexham at Wembley was pretty parky too!

Did he kidnap you and lock you in his garage?

Got to agree, I had an icicle forming from my nose which wouldn't stop running, it was a dire game as well.

Chesterfield away for me please.  Definitely winnable and a good crowd should earn a few Bob. Would probably go Fri night. It’s a good night out, but fear the Sat night might not be too welcoming.

Called it a round too early.

The wife was going away for a girly weekend.
I jokingly remarked  'I don't know whether to spend it watching porn or watching football'
'you may as well spend it watching porn' she replied
That's understanding darling what makes you say that? I asked

She said 'Well you already know how to play football'
