Seems to be some internet noise they will be travelling for round 2 tomorrow I wonder if our stadium manager will be locking the gates and allowing to have Police in the ground this time? I also hope genuine travelling Vale fan`s coming to watch the game are left alone by our sizeable element of kick em when they fall down merchants

Me and the lad are giving this one a miss for exactly that reason. Fully expected there'd be trouble.

What do they put in the water there? I know we had a thing with Stoke for years, but why Port Vale?

That`s a shame I honestly think you will see a much greater police prescence mate and you and the lad will be perfectly safe.

I would bet the history with Stoke is precisely why Vale rocked up unannounced last year though they now run the risk of revenge attacks from locals seeking retribution.As usual these gormless oafs who started it will be awol and it will be innocent Vale fan`s who get the repurcussions .I fully expect CLPS to resemble a police state from 11am and hopefully that will be enough to keep the peace? Meanwhile those of us who like a pre match pt will be harrassed and harangued by out of town robo cops with a bad attitude from CLPS to BP and back.Still another 3 points and all midly worth it.UTM

And yet, the Mansfield game is a 1 o'clock kick off.

Sadly it`s another one mate. I`m biased being a Town fan but quite why we have this reputation for disorder is beyond me? I know our fan`s in recent year`s have set off flares and travelled in numbers but that`s no reason to demonize us it seems home or away it`s the Grimsby fan`s at fault.

I seem to remember one season a large town away following taunting Vale fans about being relegated, kicked off all over Burslem and Stoke after the match.

Any potential troublemaker is going to look straight past you and your lad. They are (at worst) going to be looking for their GTFC counterparts to engage in some verbal insults. Civilian casualties are very unlikely.

I think I've got misconstrued here so I should explain. He's 8 and autistic. He does really well to attend. But if it kicks off outside, he might run off and neither of us are local and there's a chance I'd lose him.

We'll be at the Exeter game.

I think less is more in future.  

My 6 year old daughter’s first game was Port Vale at home last season.

She was baffled when it all kicked off. We watched it from the Upper Findus. She asked what they were all doing and where they were all trying to get to - I couldn’t really think of an answer.

I hope they kick off but hope no one gets hurt as they have already been yellow carded for crowd trouble and it may lead to points deduction.

Completely agree, noway is the league brave enough to dock points, especially if it effects promotion or relegation hence bringing a court case.

Although I read very recently that they (FA) are bringing back the 28 point deduction.... So Birmingham watch out lol.

You got a lot of red crosses Mickey. I reckon it's because of the erroneous use of apostrophes. Shocking punctuation.

My 8 year old grandson saw the fracas last season and after it was all over he just turned and said to me " that was interesting  "  we have to hope that nothing " interesting happens today !

Thought their support was pathetic today is this there usual following if so how come so many turned up last season starting to think it was a targeted game by thugs just hell bent on causing trouble

But I thought our fans never cause trouble?  

sums it up though it's always a few brats and some weirdos. Same story when they all thought they were hard that one time at Gateshead they got chased off by one middle class 50 something. Oh and when they were throwing stones at families from Sheffield at the sea wall then ran across the train tracks and down Suggitts Lane to the police when the real Sheffield yobs got wind and ran after them.

Still the most pathetic incident I ever saw was some handbags near McDonald's with some Town and Gimps fans then some fat male masturbator saw it and came bounding over knocking a little kid over who was walking home from the game with his granddad. People are right though we don't deserve the reputation as a club with tough hooligan fans. All we have are little kids and a few people from the lower end of the intelligence pool who run at the first sign of trouble.

Personally I think that places them in the top end of the 'intelligence pool', avoiding any trouble is surely the most sensible thing to do

Just wondering but were there some Stoke City with them last season, think the game may of been on an international weekend hence they had no game.
