Five players 23 or under starting yesterday and two more on the bench. Jolley is certainly giving our young players a fair crack at first team football.

I think it pains/pained the vast majority of us to be  considering or already calling for the jettison button to be pressed. Im sure we'd pretty much all love for him to pull it round and get the opportunity to progress his vision for the club.

My heart has always said yes, it's just ones head.

A few weeks ago Norwich were on a bad trot and the fans were after the manager. Last season he signed a number of very average players and this year had still not been able to sign any obvious class. The better players like Maddison were sold off as well.

Then Farke played virtually a youth team in the League Cup game and they won. He selected  three or four to keep their places since and they have set off on a decent run in spite of several injuries.

For Grimsby Town a similar situation existed in the 70s when John Newman was manager but he kept in the side teenagers like Tony Ford, Kevin Drinkell and Kev Moore and they got promotion for him and went on to greater things under Kerr and Booth.

The point is that sometimes a manager has to look outside the box to win games and to create a winning mentality. Jolley is used to dealing with young players, that is his strength and maybe he should play to it. The next step should be to see if Rose and Wright can step up and do some of the goal scoring the side is sadly lacking.

RRFC, a number of England managers have had success at World Cups by making team changes forced upon them by injury etc.

For Grimsby, maybe desperation and drinking in the last chance saloon has forced the manager to make bolder changes and take more (perceived) risks?  He has little to lose and other options (like Stevenage) had not worked.

Youth brings pace and energy something some of the more senior pros have been found wanting. Jolley stated at the beginning he wanted to play a high tempo game, the link up play with some of the young players has put some of the senior pros to shame.

We desperately need to control how we play the ball out, we are giving it away far too easily, like a Birchwood (grubby estate in Lincoln) slapper with legs akimbo trying to cash in on her gash for spice.

Supporting the Mighty Mariners for over 30 years, home town club is were the heart and soul is and it's great to be a part of it.

Was this the Cardiff match? I was at that game - they were brilliant.

It's all the same really isn't it apart from the church which is very popular with the bell ringers.
