I just wonder why there are no league games today, it's a bank holiday which usually gets a few more Bums on seats, still August so the weather is better. The playing two games in 3 days works over Xmas/ New Year. Also gets another game played so if it's a bad winter, or clubs might have a good cup run it helps avoid fixture congestion later. But hey ho it's never been done so why start now.

I'm going to the pub tonight to see if Spurs can heap a bit more pressure on the special one

If we'd have been relegated last season, we would be playing today, so no thanks.

I was a regular in the Lifeboat then and I remember swarms of police around in Cleethorpes on the Friday night before the game.
What a weekend that was........

I thought the same myself but I then wondered if it had been really hot, if 2 games in 3 days might be a bit too much.

It was, and in a spirit of enlightened foresight, our friends from W.Yorks protested about all seater stadia years in advance by ripping the seats out of the Upper Findus.

Through the door there came familiar laughter,
I saw your face and heard you call my name.
Oh my friend we're older but no wiser,
For in our hearts the dreams are still the same.
